CHATEAU HAUT BRION 1er cru classe

Chateau Haut Brion is one of the five first Growths of the 1855 Classification of the Medoc. The Chateau was established in 1533 by Jean de Pontac, who was the first to plant vineyards on this prime gravelly site, found in the Graves sub-region of Pessac Leognan. The Chateau is owned today by Prince Robert of Luxembourg, the great grandson of Clarence Dillon. It is planted to Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot, with three hectares planted to the white varieties of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc. Chateau Haut Brion is the only property outside of the Medoc in the 1855 classification. A wine of class and breed, Chateau Haut Brion is typically more approachable in its youth, showing floral perfume and elegance, yet possesses the structure required for exceptional longevity.

CHATEAU HAUT BRION, Blanc

The scarcity of Château Haut-Brions white wine production drives demand. Generally, fewer than 800 cases are made per vintage. A blend of majority Semillon to Sauvignon Blanc, the Blanc sits at the pinnacle of the white wines of Bordeaux. Fermentation of this white takes place on new oak, with further maturation on lees. With the complexity and sophistication of a Burgundy Grand Cru, it is lent even more prestige due to its extremely limited production.

Penfolds Bin 707

Langton's Classification: Exceptional

Bin 707 is a Cabernet Sauvignon reflection of Grange, intensely-flavoured fruit, completion of fermentation and maturation in new oak, expressing a Penfolds understanding of multi-vineyard, multi-region fruit sourcing. Bin 707 was first vintaged in 1964. The wine was not made from 1970 to 1975 when fruit was directed to other wines, nor in 1981, 1995, 2000, 2003 or 2011 (when fruit of the required style and quality was not available). Full bodied and with proven cellaring potential, Bin 707 retains a secure place among the ranks of Australias finest Cabernets.
