Mike Farmilo was the chief red winemaker for Penfolds before deciding to craft food-friendly wines inspired by his love of traditional European varieties. Naturally, he chose South Australia's Fleurieu Peninsula as the region's mild Mediterranean climate brings out the best in Tempranillo - originally a native of Spain.
BVWC Gravel Track Tempranillo
Hogs In The Woods Fleurieu Peninsula Tempranillo
Is there anything Nigel Dolan can't do. His Fleurieu Peninsula Tempranillo show fresh red berry fruit with a savoury palate of herbs and spices. This is a great South Australia expression of the classic Spanish varietal.
Pablo Pedro Tempranillo
Red fruit aromas with hints of blackberry and spice. Flavours of strawberry and vanilla on the palate with savoury overtones, subtle oak and well balanced tannins. Try it with a spicy tapas feast with chorizo or lamb chops on the BBQ.
A rich unmistakable Rioja jammed packed with flavours of ripe dark berries and plum. This bargain has been a favourite of ours for a while now and is a fabulous match to hearty casseroles and spicy sausages.
This wine exudes typical Tempranillo characteristics from Rioja, with black berry and red berry flavours and aromas (blackcurrant, blackberry and raspberry). On the palate, it is very smooth with the fruit intensity and tannins working in perfect harmony, giving way to a lingering finish.
