Yarra Yering is not only a Victorian icon, but a true Australian wine treasure. The Underhill Shiraz is sourced exclusively from the 1974 planted block of Shiraz at the western-most extremity of the vineyard. Drawn from soils with a higher clay base which has resulted in a wine of a more masculine bent offering darker fruits and spice with chewier tannins and a savoury undertone.

Gathering Field Shiraz Malbec

We sought out a parcel of shiraz with smaller berries and bunches which could accompany the rich intensity of Malbec. The Shiraz was destemmed and fermented on skins for 12 days. The Malbec was fermented separately and also destemmed and fermented on skins for around 12 days. Natural yeasts, no whole bunch. The resultant wine has the distinctive purple colour from the Malbec, as well it’s plum and mulberry aromas. The shiraz provides some lifted berry fruits and some roundness on the palate. The wine has some weight and some firm fine tannins.

Yering Station Shiraz Viog

Spicy cool climate Shiraz is fermented with whole bunches of a small portion of the white Viognier grape to produce this elegant style. Attractive floral notes of white flowers and peach blossom are enhanced by French oak and Rhone-like pepper and spice on the palate. Time in our cellaring programme has buffed the 2014 wine to a very smooth finish.

Tarrawarra Estate J Block Yarra Valley Shiraz

Sunshine Creek Block X Shiraz

An all-singing, all-dancing celebration of fruit. Shiraz from the cooler regions of the Yarra Valley with a neatly assembled bouquet of raspberry, red cherry, and juicy black currant. The fruit is focused and complete and pure in its expression. The ripe aromatic profile is supported by a bit of gamey decay, some brittle leaves and delicate dried flower. Shapely and full in the mouth - the tannic profile has relaxed a little but still offers structure and a bit of welcome rigidity. Fresh and vibrant and extremely approachable - this wine is smack bang in the middle of it’s drinking window
