Midday Somewhere takes the privacy of its users seriously. This page explains what happens to your data and how it is protected.

Personal details

Email address

To become a member of Midday Somewhere you must supply an email address. Your email address is stored in a database which is only visible to Midday Somewhere staff and server administrators who keep Midday Somewhere services operating. Midday Somewhere may send you promotional emails which you can opt out of at any time.

Third party advertisers

Midday Somewhere does not share your personal details with third party advertisers.

Passwords

Midday Somewhere does not store member passwords on its servers. Members wishing to sign in are sent an email containing a single-use passcode granting access.

Encrypted pages

All pages on Midday Somewhere are delivered over the HTTPS protocol which encrypts the connection between your browser and Midday Somewhere servers. This prevents others from eavesdropping on your visit and ensures data exchanged between your web browser and Midday Somewhere servers is not compromised in any way.

You can verify pages are encrypted by looking for the padlock icon in the address bar of your web browser.

Cookies

Cookies are small pieces of text data sent from the website and stored in your browser whilst you browse the website.

Midday Somewhere assigns a “device ID” cookie and “session ID” cookie to all users visiting the website to help analyse website usage — for example, to determine which content resonates with visitors and how those visitors arrived to the website.

In addition, Midday Somewhere assigns a “refresh token” cookie for signed in members. Without this members would need to sign in every time they visit the website.

Each of these cookies contain only random digits and letters, do not contain any personal information, and are not accessible to third parties.

IP address

Midday Somewhere stores the IP address of your internet connection, which may be used to identify your internet service provider and your approximate geographical location. To ensure the website remains operational we may block access from specific IP addresses if that connection is used to attack Midday Somewhere servers.
