Margaret River is renowned for its premium Siraz wines. This example emanates from one of Wilyabrup's a multi star rated Halliday Winereis. The fruit was harvested in Mid-April when the skin tannins are ripe and the flavours are bold. The whole berries add some spice and complexity to the wine. Aromas of glazed plums, cloves and cracked peppercorns give way to a rich palate with hints of citrus blossom, oyster shell and vanilla pod compliment a long and complex finish, further exhibiting a bright fruit core and pure longevity of pristine tannin. The fruit is de-stemmed with no crushing of the berries so that we begin whole berry fermentation. The whole berries seem to add some spice and complexity to the wine. Our Shiraz seems to enjoy relatively cool ferments, plenty of aeration and gentle treatment. The wine is gently pressed of skins, near dryness, based on taste.The bubbly purple wine finishes its fermentation in the presence of mainly French oak, with the smallest portion of American oak. The wine is racked when it has finished its malolactic fermentation, and then once or twice more over the season based on its individual requirements. A fruit and oak bomb, rich and full-bodied, with a concentrated mix of dark berry fruit, firm tannins, intense flavour richness, crunchy acidity and mocha oak. A monster!

Frankland Estate Olmo's Reward, named after Dr Harold Olmo who first identified viticultural potenital of the isolated Frankland River region, is an elegant blend of Cabernet Franc and Merlot and small components of Malbec, Cabernet Sauvignon and Petit Verdot. The concentrated palate has fine grained tannins, dark chocolates and savoury earthy notes leading to a generous and long finish.

Our philosophy has always been to give our wines time to develop in the bottle before release, a rarity in today’s market. Enjoying wines when they are ready to drink, rather than straight after bottling, when the wine has had time to develop and balance up in the bottle with no screaming parts. This cane cut is produced from Sauvignon Blanc vines planted in 1987. Hand harvested on the 17th of April at 23 baume. Fruit cold crushed to press and cold settled before a 12 o C ferment in barrel. Aged on light lees for four months before bottling.

Medium crimson red with a slight purple edge. A generous combination of lifted forest berry fruits, cassis, and dark cherry fragrances upfront with underlying black olive and blackcurrant nuances. Subtle sweet cinnamon oak spice, violets and savoury dried herbs adds a further depth of complexity. Medium to full bodied wine with elegant, well integrated red berry fruit flavours fill the palate followed by a succulent, fleshy but firm tannin structure. Juicy red berry fruit flavours persist endlessly with a hint of dark chocolate mocha on the finish.

V & A Lane is named after a long straight road that dissects Coonawarras renowned terra rossa strip. A historical location, first surveyed in 1851, it has long been used as a landmark setting out the northern and southern ends of Coonawarra. A classic Australian blend, V & A Lane displays the purity of cassis from Cabernet seamlessly blended together with the ample mid-palate black fruit of Shiraz.
