Brightwater Nelson Sauvignon Blanc

Brightwater is from a tiny family estate our Buyer first visited in 2002, having noticed that famous Aussie wine writer James Halliday had reviewed their Sauvignon above Cloudy Bay. Their 2009 was also rated as 5 Stars by top Kiwi wine critic Bob Campbell MW. A classic match with goat's cheese, it's also just the ticket with seafood, especially oysters. Alternatively, enjoy as a refreshing glass on its own.

Split Rock Sauvignon Blanc

This stunning wine is named after the landmark Split Apple Rock in Abel Tasman National Park, where Hermann Seifried built a winery in 1973 with the help of his local church. He'd only arrived in New Zealand three years earlier from Austria, via Germany (where he studied winemaking) and South Africa. He married Kiwi lass Agnes Wilkins, and two years later they realised their shared dream of growing grapes. 1976 was their maiden vintage and more than 30 years on the Seifrieds are still going strong and racking up a host of awards. Gooseberry fresh Split Rock slips down a treat on its own and partners dishes such as spicy prawns, grilled chicken or creamy pasta.

Rapaura Springs Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc

The journey for the Rapaura Springs wines begins far from the vineyards where the earth claims a share of the Wairau River. After a six month journey, the water is released to a spring that weaves through the vineyard, and provides the crystal clear, pure water for the vines. It also informs Rapura Springs' philosophy that quality begins in the vineyard. They took out top honour in 2015, recognised at the London international Wine & Spirits Competition as the Best Sauvignon Blanc Producer and NZ Winemaker of the Year. With classic tropical notes as well as citrus and fresh herbs on the pallet, the Rapaura Springs Sauvignon Blanc combines complexity and structure with clean cut acidity, providing an exceptional premium style at an affordable price point.
