Fragrant, pure and elegant Hunter Valley Semillon from the longest running commercial vineyard in Australia. A little history: George Wyndham arrived in Australia in 1823 and promptly set about assembling vast agricultural holdings stretching from Inverell to the Liverpool Plains. In 1904, Penfolds purchased Wyndham Estate and renamed it Dalwood. 63 years later Perc McGuigan, bought the vineyard and winery and renamed it Wyndham Estate, but the Dalwood brand was sold on to Sam and Christie Arnaout and Sweetwater Wines 50 years later, and so Dalwood Estate proudly announces that it is the birthplace of Australian wine. The wines are made by Bryan Currie of Hungerford Hill. Dalwood Estate Semillon grows in sandy loam soil on the south bank of the Hunter River. The 2022 vintage was cool with ample rainfall. The fruit is fragrant with lemon pith and lime zest; the palate is pure and elegant.

The nose shows complex savoury, earthy, bramble aromas with lifted American oak. The palate is medium bodied with bright red currant and hints of spice and blackberry.

Long fleshy mouth-feel, citrus and pear feature on the palate with subtle cut grass and complex lemon blossom notes, well-integrated natural acid with a crisp mineral finish.

Displaying an elegant nose of lemon citrus and bright yellow straw colour, our Sparkling Chardonnay finish is smooth and refreshing with fine balance leading to a wine with eternal sparkle. Made from our Chardonnay grape, the palate is soft with nutty & cream characters and is enhanced with a small blending of Pinot Noir. All palates that favour a sparkling will be rewarded with this easy to drink wine.Served chilled, a perfect match with fish, chicken, and pork, also favoured with cheese platters. Designed to be enjoyed now, and is a perfect gift or wine to celebrate special occasions.
