The Barossa was blessed with good rain fall in the growing season preceding vintage 2022. Combined with a cool, dry summer, this made for ideal ripening conditions for our grapes. These favourable conditions have led to wines from this vintage having great balance of flavour and intensity. The wine shows a tightly woven complex nose full of spice driven florals, fresh red fruits and dusty cedar nuances. The palate is structured and long, with assertive tannins and a finish full of leather and spice characters.

The inspiration from the Barossas best old vine Grenache vineyards created Annexus, an addition to the John Duval's Plexus blend. Annexus is a small unique blend selected from their best old low yielding Grenache vineyards, made only in the best years.

Every so often there are parcels of wine that generate tremendous excitement amongst the winemakers at Schild Estate. They set this aside to make Prämie, the wine that defines the best of the vintage and the land on which it was grown. Intense primary fresh plum flavours show again on the palate, where they hold their presence all the way through to roll out soft and pillowy at the finish. A firmly present, but fine tannin framework provides just enough focus and lift for the fruit to ensure added complexity, but retaining vibrancy to the mouth flavours of this Shiraz.

This spicy Barossa blend is based on fruit from mature Grenache vines. Ripe plum aromas jump out of the glass and the palate is rich and fruity with velvety tannins providing a lingering finish.

Greenock is a long standing subregion in the Barossa Valley known for rich, silken, dark-fruited wines. When you mix that terroir-driven history with a winery like Kalleske you have a match made in heaven. Typically this elegantly proportioned wine shows ripe dark berry, dried herb spicy aromas, plush concentrated flavours, velvety textures and long sinuous finish. The wine is a Shiraz dominant blend with minor components of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and Cabernet Franc from the Eden and Barossa Valleys. It is named after the Barossa Hills village of Keyneton, the centre of the Henschke familys cultural and working life for over 150 years. Maturation takes place in a small proportion of new oak hogsheads with the remainder seasoned French and American oak hogsheads for 18 months.
