Ten years marks a significant period in the development of Old Kempton Distillery. Along with Lyn Lark, James Reid and Amelia Hope, we started what was going to be a small craft distillery. Over time, the distillery attracted a few passionate friends who shared our vision. They were welcomed into our family bringing expertise and enthusiasm guiding OKD to what it is today. We are also fortunate to have a wonderful support team to facilitate OKD’s commitment to becoming a true artisan distillery. Aroma: A rich and ever developing aroma with dried fruits (raisins and sultanas), tinned pears, coffee with dark chocolate, orange peel, rich malt, and toasted almonds. Palate: Rich oil, and creamy across the palate with a good balance of both sweet and dry elements (ANZAC biscuits, Seville orange, and oak). Finish: Great mouthfeel with good spread and balance (Gingernut biscuit with spice and toffee). This release marries together spirit distilled at both our original site at Redlands Estate and at our new home at Dysart House, Kempton. Whist our location has changed, the delicate fruit and malt driven spirit that we produce has been consistent across our sites and is central to the style of whisky we produce.

This is the second batch of Japanese Blended Whisky from That Boutique-y Whisky Company. The nose on this 21 Year Old blend is of dark muscovado sugar and vanilla, followed by touches of earth and mulch. Dark, deep fruit notes among a milky latte underlay. A wonderfully balanced palate with charred oak, peppery spices, and dried barley leaf. A long, lengthy finish. Specially selected for its aromatic palette, the barrel for this limited White Oak Akashi 10 Year Old has the particularity of being a sherry butt, a large barrel of 500 liters used for aging the famous Sherry wines of Andalusia which in addition to strongly colouring the whisky, transmit a greedy aromatic richness. An expressive nose with typical aromas of whiskies aged in sherry casks with hints of dried fruits, chocolate, and nuts, which are met on the palate with notes of spices, tannins, and candied fruit. Located in the city of Akashi in the Hyogo Prefecture, by the seaside of the Seto Island Sea is the White Oak Distillery. This distillery was founded in 1888 by Eigashima Shuzo and has been producing Sake and Shochu every since. In 1919, Eigashima Shuzo obtained a license to manufacture whisky and when the company moved to their current facilities in 1984, the White Oak Distillery was born. Cask Number - 105206

Nikka Gold & Gold Knight Ornament Blended Japanese Whisky Japanese Whisky is a special edition bottle. Comes with a removable metallic helmet on the top of the bottle. This version is called “Shirobin” (White Bottle), though the label is all black. The design of the label is as it was back in the 1970’s when Nikka first launched its Gold & Gold expression. This bottle that doesn’t leave you indifferent. Love it or hate it, the Japanese always have something new and different up their kimono sleeve.

This is Mars Komagatake Single Malt ‘Wine Cask Finish’ was produced in collaboration with Voyager Estate from the famous Margaret River region located in Western Australia. Only 924 bottles have been produced. This is the 2nd collaboration and this special whisky is sold only in Australia and Japan. This Single Malt was distilled at Mars Shinshu Distillery in 2016 in Nagano Prefecture and matured in a bourbon barrel for more than 3 years. It was then aged for another 15 months in French Troncais oak. This oak cask was previously used to age Voyager Estate’s flagship red wine, their ‘MJW’ Cabernet Sauvignon, and was sent to Japan in early 2020 once the wine came out of the cask. This special whisky shows the harmony between the world of whisky and wine. The attractive pale red rose colour is evidenced from red wine cask, fruity notes on the aroma with grapes, berry, pomegranate. Elegant smooth mouthfeel with grape fruit character. The finish is long, viscous umami, and well balanced with sweetness.

Ichiro's Malt & Grain 505 World Blended Whisky is a special release of Ichiro's Malt & Grain. It was created to support the Japanese restaurants and bars during the COVID-19 crisis. The Ichiro's Malt & Grain World Blended 505 was initially sold only to bars and restaurants with limited amount leaving the country and bottled at a nice 50.5% ABV in comparison to the original Malt & Grain release. The whisky is blended by Ichiro Akuto, founder of the Chichibu Distillery. He travels to find casks to perfect his blend in addition to his Chichibu single malt. This is Non Chill-Filtered and Non Coloured.
