The Chimay Cinq Cents Triple has a typical golden colour with a slighty hazy appearance. The fine head is characterised by the aroma, resulting from a combination of fresh hops and yeast. This is complimented by a touch of bitterness. There is no acidity, but an after-bitterness which melts in the mouth. This top fermented Trappist beer, refermented in the bottle, is not pasteurised. Chimay is an authentic Trappist product. This means that it is brewed within the walls of a Trappist monastery, under the control and responsibility of the community of monks, who are involved through the process of making and marketing the beer. Most of the income generated by this activity is devoted to the needs of the community and social works.
