A lovely example of Margaret River Cabernet Merlot, Flametree Cabernet Merlot is showing big dense fruit characters of blackcurrant and stewed plums. A silky seamless palate with rich fruit concentration and chocolaty complexity. Matured in French oak barrels has softened and rounded this wine.

From the highly regarded wine making team at Pierro comes this more than worthy second label. Expressive red berry characters on the nose are intermingled with nuances of blood plum, and on the palate these flavours are underpinned by subtle oak.

A rich, lush wine of abundant fruits - red currants, mulberries, plums, blackberries, blueberries and cassis, this ambling fruit richness is complimented by plentiful ripe fruit tannins and the finest grained French oak.

Margaret River is renowned for its premium Siraz wines. This example emanates from one of Wilyabrup's a multi star rated Halliday Winereis. The fruit was harvested in Mid-April when the skin tannins are ripe and the flavours are bold. The whole berries add some spice and complexity to the wine. Aromas of glazed plums, cloves and cracked peppercorns give way to a rich palate with hints of citrus blossom, oyster shell and vanilla pod compliment a long and complex finish, further exhibiting a bright fruit core and pure longevity of pristine tannin. The fruit is de-stemmed with no crushing of the berries so that we begin whole berry fermentation. The whole berries seem to add some spice and complexity to the wine. Our Shiraz seems to enjoy relatively cool ferments, plenty of aeration and gentle treatment. The wine is gently pressed of skins, near dryness, based on taste.The bubbly purple wine finishes its fermentation in the presence of mainly French oak, with the smallest portion of American oak. The wine is racked when it has finished its malolactic fermentation, and then once or twice more over the season based on its individual requirements. A dry elegant Shiraz with ripe berry and spice on the nose flowing generously onto the back palate. The tannins are soft and elegant creating a smooth texture on the palate.

Vibrant in the glass deep purple with bright red edges. The nose is complex and expressive. A mix of red, blue, purple fruits the blend of varieties reflected in the broader spectrum. Oak though present is not imposing itself. Remarkably fragrant. Savoury notes in the tobacco and cedar zone add interest. Complex structure and great length created by the blend of varieties, a wine to try now but also one to cellar.

Machine harvested at night , crushed and de-stemmed, pressed to French oak (25% new and the balance in staves) for 12 months. This is classic cooler climate Shiraz with beautiful perfumes on the nose and lovely fleshy fruit flavours on the palate, the tannins are soft and generous combining to give the wine a well structured finish.
