The Brand family story starts with the arrival of Eric Brand in Coonawarra in 1950. Today Brand & Sons is run by Sam Brand, the 4th generation of this family, which has played a major role in Coonawarra for over 70 years. This is a Coonawarra Shiraz of great acclaim and considerable complexity. "The 'Remnants' is a reference to the ancient sea bed that formed the hardened limestone seen throughout Coonawarra. Blackberry, dark cherry pit and elderberry. Hawthorn and kampot peppers. Nyon olive, sea moss and granite. There is a volcanic rock or mineral element that speaks on ancient seabed and time passing its a wine for those that like to ponder. Decant and its linear frame and perky acidity. Blood plum, blackcurrant, cold drip coffee and ironstone. Densely flavoured through the mid palate - full of plush black fruits, leather and spice. With all the depth and broodiness mentioned, don’t be fooled into thinking it’s a heavy beast of a wine – there’s a brightness of fruit adding freshness and a kick of vibrancy here. Tannins are powdery and fine, wound tightly amongst the ripe cassis core of fruit that drives the palate.

Leconfield was established in 1974 by noted oenologist, Sydney Hamilton. He named his estate after his English ancestor, who resided in Petworth Manor House in the south of England. Coonawarra vineyards take full advantage of the region’s famous terra rossa soils, with this Manor House wine.

A round rich palate with a good backbone of tight, but deliciously mouth-watering tannins. Generously flavoured but retaining elegance. Structured to age beautifully over the long term but round enough to be enjoyed while the primary fruits are fresh and vibrant.

Bright and expressive, this medium-bodied Cabernet Franc bursts with forest berries, blueberry, strawberry, and a hint of clove. Fine tannins and a dry finish bring balance to this lively, fruit-driven style. Best enjoyed with your favourite duck dish, served with crispy duck fat potatoes and steamed green beans. Cabernet Sauvignon is Coonawarra's pre-eminent grape variety. Our 2021 vintage is well structured with a palate of rich ripe grape tannins, supported and elaborated with french oak framework. Cassis and plum, cedar and cocoa. Great presence and complexity.
