The Speyside Reposado 7 was born in Mexico and raised for over 7 months in Scottish Speyside whisky barrels, it’s a tantalizingly two-sided tequila. Caramel, subtly oaky with hints of vanilla and honey on an earthy, lowland agave base, it’s the best of both worlds.

This fruity, sweet and smokey expression is the most approachable of the Corte Vetusto range, drawing some comparison with medium-ester Jamaican rums. Bold flavours hint at stewed pears, potpourri, brine, white pepper and trail off with suggestions of rubber and wood smoke. Despite its long ageing, this minimum 30-month blend is not overtly sweet or oaky; it has a drier style, which is full of spice and character from its highland terroir. Cooked agave is present with a fine mixture of dried fruits, almonds and roasted coffee. There is a subtle and masked fudginess reminiscent of dark cocoa that emerges from the depth in its long and slightly dry finish.

Sustainably-grown from certified organic agave and harvested using meticulous techniques, Solento Blanco is citrus-forward with smooth notes of vanilla. Best served over ice with a slice of lemon.

In 1999, Guillermo Erickson Sauza decided to bring back the old Sauza family distillery to life. Today he produces Tequila Fortaleza there using 100% stone-milled agave, entirely produced on the estate which lies right in the middle of the town of Tequila. Fortaleza Blanco Tequila is unaged. It has an amazingly soft texture and vegetal sweetness with a long and satisfying finish.
