Francois Voyer Cognac VS
A young, fruit driven, grape-to-bottle Cognac. 100% Grande Champagne. Francois Voyer is a grower producer: he owns his vineyard and makes his Cognac entirely on his property. Francois Voyer vineyard is located in Grande Champagne, the 1er Cru de Cognac. Present on the finest tables of France, hailed by the specialized press as "among the best of the Grande Champagne", this producer reflects the history of a family, and the beauty of their vineyard. Distilled with the lees, the FV VS ages in new Limousin oak casks with a medium interior toast for 1 year. The ageing process continues in old barrels in a damp cellar. A progressive reduction is made, with distilled water (max 5% of diminution every 3 months). A very fine blend, minimum 30 months old. EYE: golden. NOSE: strong bouquet of vanilla, lime and white flowers. Floral tones are typical of the Grand Champagne cru young Cognacs. PALATE: a gentle start which stays on the pallet for a long time. Fruity, pleasant and persistent. Great for cocktails or can be drunk straight from the freezer. Our cocktail suggestion is a long drink called Brandy Tea. Take some ice, half a slice of orange, half a slice of lemon, 2 teaspoons of honey and 40ml of Voyer VS Cognac. Shake well and then add hot water to make a long drink. Francois Voyer XO Cognac
A rich, full of rancio, grape-to-bottle Cognac. Minimum 20 years old, all the way to 30 years old. This cognac provides access to a single vineyard, quality “XO”, very different from the blends of the bigger brands. A very special drink to keep the night going with family and friends. Tasting notes: Colour: Amber, with a touch of old gold. Aromas: Down among the flowers: touches of jasmine, clove pink, combined with the first flavours of fruits: peach, plums. The old maturation of this Cognac has given it its vanilla aroma and this light and sweet aroma that only an old Cognac has. Palate: The outstanding touch for this Cognac XO is probably its great elegance which is one of the major characteristics of the « Premier Cru », fully represented here by the delicacy of aromas as well as the subtlety of its palate.
Chateau Laballe Bas Armagnac Resistance Baco
In a new release, this vibrant, next-gen Armagnac takes its name from 2 things. A: the phylloxera-resistant Baco hybrid developed at the turn of the twentieth century and B: the fact that it makes a stand against those forces that would diminish Baco plantings in the region. Until the late 1970s, Baco remained the prime ingredient in Armagnac and while Ugni Blanc holds that position today, this variety—now exclusive to Armagnac country—has played an important role in the region’s identity; a role that Cyril Laballe wanted to commemorate with Résistance. So, made from 100% Baco grapes, in consultation with the trade, this unique bottling took three years to get just right and consists of a blend of three Armagnacs distilled in 2009, 2010 and 2012. The three eaux de vie spent their first year after distillation in the new 410-litre Chêne Noir Gascon barrels from Bartholomo (the last barrel maker in the Landes region) to develop texture and sweetness, and then the rest of aging in older barrels, bringing more earthy and savoury notes.
Bisquit & Dubouche VSOP Cognac
An exceptional cognac made mainly of four crus, Grande Champagne, Petite Champagne, Fin Bois and Bons Bois. Its warm amber color and its silver label will make you spot it at first glance. Bisquit & Dubouche VSOP is slowly matured in french oak barrels for a minimum of 4 years. A core of ripe fruits disclosing aromas of apricot and honey. Then a spicy sense of cinnamon and clove, ended by a floral smell of rose. Smoothness and mellowness made unique by a teasing interplay of aromas. Notes of honeysuckle, citrus, and mango.
