Old vine Grenache, Shiraz and Mataro are blended in this elegant wine from South Australias Barossa. Raspberry, violets and rich red fruits play on the palate and make is just right for roast chicken with lots of vegetables.

Chaffey Bros. was born from Daniels dream to revive the name and the innovation of his great-great grandfather and his brother the original Chaffey brothers who founded Mildura in 1887. Together with his brother-in-law Theo Engela they now form the new iteration of Chaffey Bros. Macaw Creek Reserve Shiraz Cabernet is a complex blend of Shiraz and Cabernet grapes, resulting in a dark red hued wine. The attractive and vibrant bouquet gives way to a rich and fresh palate brimming with flavours of choc mint and ripe blackberry fruit coupled with vanillin and mocha oak notes. The fine and firm tannins fuse with these intense flavours to end in a delicate and persistent finish. Drink this full-bodied Shiraz Cabernet blend with barbequed rib eye or tomahawk steak to discover its full flavour potential.

Deep garnet in colour, displaying a mixed array of wildberry and red licorice aromas. The palate is fresh and vibrant, juicy and rounded. A very modern styled Barossa Shiraz, which is delicious drinking now that will mature well for the medium term. A variety of fermentation techniques were utilized, but all involved extended skin contact ranging from 15 to 25 days. A cold soak period of up to 6 days occurred before a natural warming to start the fermentation. Upon completion the ferments were pressed to a mix of new and seasoned oak hogsheads, for malolactic fermentation and maturation.

Deep red with a purple hue. Aromas of dark berries and chocolate. Full of striking dark berry flavours that linger on the palate with elegant oak spice and fine tannins providing structure.

Situated in the heart of the Limestone Coast, Reschke benefits from optimal vineyard soils characterised by thin layers of rich red loams overlaying ancient limestone. This distinct combination provides the perfect foundation for grapevine growth, allowing Reschke to consistently craft high-quality wines that capture the essence of the region. This Shiraz has intense aromas of dark berries, black plums, and a touch of cracked black pepper. Ripe fruit flavours harmonise with notes of dark chocolate and subtle oak, creating a full-bodied and velvety mouthfeel,while well-integrated tannins contribute to the lingering finish that leaves traces of blackberry with a hint of spice.

Tasting Note: This Pinot is a medium bodied, elegant example of what the cool climate of the Mount Gambier region can produce. The aroma has a dark cherry and raspberry lift with a touch of cedar. The palate is savoury and elegant, with subtle oak, fine tannin structure and hint of earthy spice on the finish. Winemaker’s Note: Grown in the limestone gravel soils of Mount Gambier, a region rich in volacnic history and home to the mysterious Blue Lake. Sourced from two blocks then cold soaked prior to fermentation. It spent 18 days on skins and then transferred to oak for 16 months, 10% new French. Vintage Note: 2022 was a strong vintage, with stable conditions and harvest starting a little later than recent years. This extended the growing season with a long and slow ripening period. The resultant wines are concentrated and intense with great fruit flavours and fine ripe tannins.
