Located in the heart of Western Australia’s renowned Margaret River wine region, the Pierro locality, owned and managed by Dr Mike Peterkin, has a viticultural pedigree second to none. Besides making award-winning Chardonnay of distinctive character, Mike also produced the first Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blend in Australia. The Pierro reds are now among the very best in the region. Each parcel is hand-picked, chilled, hand-sorted and whole bunch pressed. There are multiple picks for this wine. With the first batches being picked for aromatic complexity and acidity, and the latter being picked for flavour and texture. Each batch is kept separate and inoculated with different yeasts depending on the variety and date picked. During this time a quarter of the wine is fermented in French oak barriques for 2-3 months for mouthfeel and texture. These different elements combine as a whole to provide an incredible amount of complexity to the final wine. The separate batches are then combined and left on fermentation lees for 3-4 months prior to bottling. A light dry wine, delicious when young but has the capacity and backbone to mature and develop in the bottle. Flavours of citrus, pear, green apple, melon and tropical fruit. Fresh, crisp and dry with both complexity and elegance. An ideal accompaniment to seafood and white meat dishes.

Attention to detail is paramount in the winery where careful site, clonal and oak selections are made to produce exceptional Chardonnay's like this one. Characters of dried pears, grapefruit, melon and fig are balanced with searing acidity and a length of flavour that speaks to its promising future.

The Cullen Amber Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is the first Amber wine made from Cullen Wines. It is a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc coming from our certified Biodynamic vineyards. The idea behind this wine was to make a white wine like a red.

Attractive aromas of citrus and tropical fruits with hints of nougat and talc. The medium weight textural palate displays vibrant flavours of citrus fruits, dried pears and some riper tropical notes. The restrained use of French oak and wild yeast fermentation adds subtle complexity and texture to the palate which finishes with a clean mineral edge.

The grapes for this spectacular Best Blocks Shiraz were sourced from the Miamup Road vineyard. The fruit was harvested, crushed, and transferred to stainless steel vessels for fermentation. Post maturation in a combination of American and French barriques for 18 months, the resulting wine features a deep purple red colour. A swirl of the glass presents scintillating aromas of freshly cracked pepper, mixed berries, cocoa bean, spice and vanilla. Fine grained tannins integrate with the soft palate containing ripe red fruits and spices. The finish is elegant and lengthy. This delightful Shiraz can be enjoyed now, or within a cellaring term of eight years. It tastes excellent with char grilled porterhouse steak alongside mustard butter sauce and seasonal vegetables.

This pale straw hued Best Blocks Chardonnay presents green highlights along the edges. The fragrant bouquet exhibits intense aromas of white peach, nectarine and apricot. Flinty scents of stone fruits combine with lemon and nutty oak notes to enhance the perfumed nose. The rich and creamy palate contains flavours of crisp nectarine, lemon curd and apricot, balanced by taut lemon acidity. This wonderful Chardonnay culminates in a generous and seamless finish, marked by nougat and hazelnut characters. With a cellaring potential up to three years, this alluring Miles From Nowhere Chardonnay has been crafted to be relished upon release. Pair it with mushroom risotto and creamy seafood to appreciate its grand fruit flavours.

The juicy grapes used to produce Best Blocks Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested, and crushed into stainless steel fermenters. The juice obtained was pumped over and left on skins. This deep red-hued Cabernet Sauvignon showcases a brick red haze. The aromatic nose flaunts pleasing scents of ripe berries and dry herbs such as aniseed and sage. These fragrances make way for a rich and soft palate filled with concentrated fruit flavours and balanced tannins. This full-bodied Cab Sauv ends in an elegant, yet powerful and long finish. Made for consumption upon release, this mouth watering red wine has the potential to be cellared for six years. It tastes fantastic with mustard and herb crusted rack of lamb, served with sautéed vegetables.

Aromas of lemon, peaches and tropical fruits are followed by pure, clean and intense flavours on the palate. Fine, persistent flavours with balanced acid and a long finish. An exceptionally elegant wine, showing the benefit of careful oak treatment.
