Tintara Tempranillo has an inviting nose of rich fruits and subtle hints of spice. A balanced harmonious palate follows, with initial primary fruit flavours of raspberry, sour cherry and plum followed by savoury and spice characteristics. This expressive medium bodied wine is complemented by a fine tannin structure and subtle texture, giving notable structure and length.

Occupying some of the more elevated land in the Canberra District, Quarry Hill's climate is well-suited to produce one of the great red grapes of the world, tempranillo. Taking a cue from Spanish joven styles of young & fresh tempranillo, Quarry Hill's expression is fresh and bright-fruited, but guided in by the chewy skin tannin characteristic of the grape variety. The versatility of the wine means its not just for tapas or other Spanish foods, it also goes great with any grilled dishes or roast pork.

This exciting Spanish black grape shows hints of red spicy berries, liquorice, raspberries and cherry, with good fleshy finish.

VINEYARDS = Our vineyards are located in the South-eastern part of Spain, between 700 and 800 meters above sea level, in the inland of Albacete. The weather here is mild and dry with a perfect temperature range between day and night. The vines are cultivated on the steep slopes of low fertility soil composed by reddish brown sandy clay soil, rich in limestone and chalk, ideal for growing healthy, high quality grapes.VINIFICATION = The grapes are harvested by night to preserve the aroma and to avoid oxidation. Soft stalk stripping and crushing, fermentation without skins at a low temperature, 16 Degrees C, for ideal colour and taste.COLOUR = Salmon.BOUQUET = Bright and clean, intense. A delicate aroma, very fruity with notes of cherry and raspberry.Medium body, intense, well balanced, soft andround, very long in the mouth. Drink young.It matches perfectly well with fish, first light courses and white meats.

Medium to deep purple red colour. Red and blueberries on the nose with subtle oak aromas. Medium bodied. Elegant palate with an abundance of berry flavours. Fine tannins. Drink now and over the next three years.

Marqués de Riscal Próximo is a new addition to the Marqués range and is a bright and fruit driven Rioja style sourced from slightly younger Tempranillo vines. Very strict parcel selection along with traditional picking techniques, this Rioja is bursting with dark blackberry fruit with notes of rich, ripe plums. Hints of liquorice and star anise also give the wine a superb backbone that is perfectly suited many Mediterranean cuisines.

Castillo Ygay Tempranillo from the famed Rioja region in Spain was one of the stars of the show at the recent Dan Murphy's Wines of the World Expo! Complex roasted chestnut/mocha/dark berry/leather fruit with superb richness, underlying savoury nuances and ripe chocolaty tannins. Although matured for 31 months in American oak, the oak and fruit integration is sublime.
