Collaborations Shiraz by d'Arenberg

Good winter rains set the vines up well for the ensuing dry, warm growing season. The ripening period was characterised again by warm, dry condition without excessive heat which gifted us rich, opulent reds with well-balanced structure. The moderate weather allowed us to harvest fruit at optimal ripeness. The Shiraz in particular demonstrates rafts of blackberry, fennel and earthy characters, typical hallmarks of a classic d’Arenberg red. Produced in close partnership with some of Australia's finest vineyards, Collaborations is our new capsule range of five wines. After over a year of tasting and scoring, we arrived at our core collection of wines: a Brown Brothers prosecco, a Mr Riggs shiraz, a Yering Station chardonnay, a Pizzini pinot grigio and a Xanadu cabernet sauvignon. Pensilva Shiraz

The McLaren Vale region in South Australia has a moderate coastal climate, perfectly suited to growing high quality Shiraz grapes. Its unique soil produces concentrated fruit that impart pronounced berry and spice characteristics and soft palate. This wine is complex, fruit driven and smooth with hints of strawberries and raspberries with notes of spices. Deep ruby-red in colour, it is the ideal accompaniment to roasted or grilled meats such as beef or venison, as well as hard cheeses such as cheddar and parmesan. Team up at a bbq with friends. Awarded Gold at the Melbourne International Wine Competition in 2022 and 4 Stars at the Winestate Magazine (94 Points).

This new exclusive red from Ponting Wines displays the passion for quality of Aussie legend Ricky Ponting, the skill of winemaker Ben Riggs, and the quality and value of Langhorne Creek. Howzat for a fine all-round package! One of the world’s best ever batsmen and captains, a respected coach, commentator, – and recipient of the Order of Australia, Ricky has always pursued excellence in both sport and philanthropic endeavours. There’s no gimmick to Ponting Wines. Ricky and Rianna were united in their love of wine, and “... are into every detail, working closely with Ben on the wine styles..” With over 100 trophies including McLaren Vale’s “Bushing King” and the Great Australian Shiraz Challenge (both won twice), Ben is well aware of this legacy of excellence: “I’ll never make anything less than a high-quality wine with the Ponting name on it....” Del Monte – named after the picturesque accommodation Ricky shared with the likes of Shane Warne and Adam Gilchrist while at the Australian Cricket Academy in Adelaide – displays this commitment to quality perfectly. Del Monte Shiraz Grenache 2021 is a stunner. From first sniff to its long satisfying finish, it’s hugely appealing, with fresh plummy Shiraz and raspberry-edged Grenache shot through with attractive spice and approachable tannins.

Stonyfell The Cellars Langhorne Creek Shiraz

The Cellars Langhorne Creek Shiraz showcases this legacy - a powerful, beautifully balanced wine bursting with dark cherry, blackberry and hints of dark chocolate, with a rich textured palate and persistent finish.

Angove Organic Shiraz Cabernet

The grapes for this sibling to the organic Chardonnay are sourced from Angove's own Organically certified Nanya vineyards and premium certified Organic growers in the Riverland region. The result is a versatile, vibrant and spicy yet easy to drink red full of dark fruit and soft oak flavours, with a long yet soft, earthy finish.

Bleasdale Vineyards Mulberry Tree Cabernet Sauvignon

An elegant wine with aromas of mixed berries, dark chocolate and violets. The palate is smooth with blackcurrant and spicy oak flavours and finishes with fine chalky tannins. De-stemmed & crushed to open fermenters, for a short soak. Fermentation peak at 28ºC with pump overs up to 4 times daily. Drained & pressed after 8 to 12 days on skins including up to 5 days post ferment maceration. Settled for 24 hours before racking to oak for MLF Bleasdale is not only one of the oldest wineries in the Langhorne Creek region, but one of the oldest in Australia. Frank Potts, who founded Bleasdale in 1850, has a fascinating history. Born with sea legs, he joined the British Royal Navy at 9 years old and served on Lord Nelsons famous ship HMS Victory. He sailed around the world before landing in South Australia in 1836. He planted the first vines in 1858 and sold fruit to Thomas Hardy. He then expanded the vineyards in the 1860s. He was an innovator and a pioneer who played his role in establishing Australias wine industry. The Potts family still own Bleasdale and descendants Michael and Ben Potts handle the winemaking duties, along with Paul Hotker. They make wines from fruit grown on their 61 hectares of vineyards from varietals like Verdelho, Shiraz and Malbec in sparkling, table and fortified styles. Each parcel of fruit is carefully selected to produce a range of wines that can be enjoyed immediately, or cellared for that special occasion.

The Red Knot Shiraz is set to enshrine this label among the all time bargain greats in Australian wine. Following the ground breaking previous releases, the mass following for this wine is guaranteed to continue. Deep blackberry concentration swathed in supporting red fruits, dark plums, complex spices, and definitely more aniseed in this edition. A Shiraz lover's delight in every way possible!

Shingleback Davey Brothers Shiraz

Brothers Kym and John Davey are the winemaking team behind this quality expression of McLaren Vale Shiraz. Using modern viticultural practices that minimise work to the soil of their estate vineyard, ensures superior fruit is grown for the wine. Flavours of dark cherries and chocolate are finely framed with silky tannins and fresh acidity. Fine grained American and French oak are the thread that runs through this full-bodied Shiraz, tying together the opulent mid-palate and long, lingering finish.
