We are a small team at Patrick of Coonawarra, making award winning wine from our estate grown vineyards within the Limestone Coast of South Australia. We produce product of passion, perseverance, people & place. Tasting Note: This Shiraz builds mouthfeel and rich fruit flavour, with medium bodied tannin complexity. It is a wonderfully round, complex wine that has all the hallmarks of a classic Australian Red. Winemaker’S Note: From our nothern block in Wrattonbully. Aged in predominantly older oak to ensure the richness of fruit is preserved and minimal tannin is absorbed. Vintage Note: A warm October and November advanced budburst andflowering by about two weeks earlier than average.March then saw more stable and mild conditionswhich allowed for a slower finish to the season andensured enough time for tannins to ripen and flavourto develop.

Blended Cabernet Sauvignon 40%, Shiraz 40% and Merlot 20%.

Appearance: bright On Nose: floral and fruity, zinc oxide-inflected, with generous, slightly green aromas of fresh herbs, pepper, cordite and black cherry fruit On Palate: peppery, light and acid high and juicy Mouthfeel:, smooth, lively, medium weight, a bit thin and fairly tart-edged with crusty tannin. The length is good to very good, with the pepper and green notes echoing on the finish. Paring with Food: Real meatness Drinks: 2022 – 2024. Estate grown and fermented in small open top fermenters, our Shiraz shows plummy, red cherry, savoury and spice fruits with balanced acidity and tannins. Matured in /french oak for 24 months.

A significant contribution of fruit from vines which are 100 years old make this one very special blend indeed. There’s a class and sophistication to what is a delicious medium bodied and brightly fruited red. Its savoury nature is so moreish and this really does offer a great alternate red wine drinking experience.
