This new and exclusive Trophy winning Shiraz is a high quality, single vineyard Shiraz from Barossa Valley icon, Château Tanunda. An opulent, full-bodied wine with lifted aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cracked black pepper supported by spicy, dark berry fruits on the palate. The extensive finish is framed by elegant, fine-grained tannins from maturation in a combination of new and seasoned American and French oak barrels. The Château Tanunda Mattiske Road Shiraz 2015 was awarded the Trophy for Best 2015 Shiraz at the 2016 Marananga Wine Show. Gold Medal and 95 Points at Barossa Wine Show 2017.

The wine reflects the slate and granite soils with strong mineral notes, and fruit flavours of blackberry, Morello cherry. Strikingly beautiful, the wine shows perfumed aromas of dark plum, mulberry, thyme, clove and roasted hazelnut on the nose, leading to a beautifully refined palate that’s silky and flowing. The grapes for this wine was grown in the Angove Familys certified organic Nanya vineyard in Paringa, perched high on the cliffs overlooking the mighty River Murray. 15+ year old vines growing in deep, light sandy loam over a bed of limestone on gently undulating east-west ridges. Pale salmon pink with fresh cherry, watermelon and blueberry aromas that lead to cherry, red berry flavours and a clean finish.

Deep red with purple hues. Concentrated plum and blackberry aromas with subtle cinnamon and nutmeg spice. Rich and full flavoured with great depth and intense dark berry fruit supported by premium French and American oak.

Chateau Tanunda was established in 1890 and is the site of some of the First vines planted in the Barossa in the 1840s as well as the Valleys first winery. The grapes for this Cabernet Sauvignon are from select rows of our Eden Valley vineyard. This wine displays deep, rich purple and red hues. The bouquet has lifted aromas of blackcurrant,bluberry and spice on the silky smooth palate with hints of cedar and mint.
