Paringa Estate's The Paringa Shiraz is a multi-trophy winning wine that has been carefully selected from barrels prior to bottling due to the stand-out quality that was easily identifiable. Sourced from Lindsay McCall's estate, this Shiraz is almost eternal in flavour length and intensity. Flavours of plum, raspberry, redcurrant are accompanied by black pepper, anise and vanilla. Maison Les Alexandrins is a collaboration between two renowned winegrowers from the Rhone Valley - Nicolas Jaboulet and Alexandre Caso. Their wines are crafted in a signature style that is at once contemporary and timeless, and always from exceptional vineyards unearthed by Alexandre Caso, a specialist in the terroirs of the Northern Rhone. Condrieu lies at the northernmost part of the Rhône Valley. Here the parent rock is granite with topsoil varying between decomposing granite and loess. This soil is perfectly suited to the Viognier grape variety and the vines, planted in terraces, are constantly bathed in sunshine. Seductive shiny-gold colour with golden reflections. The nose reveals an aromatic bouquet with an exotic character white peaches, spices and citrus fruit. Perfectly balanced between finesse and power, the mouth is voluptuous, complex, with a beautiful structure and freshness.

Simply named from our address at Coldstream, the 864 range is a showcase of highly detailed micro-selections from the most exceptional single vineyard sites in the Yarra Valley. Sourced from the Henk Vineyard, Aqueduct Block. Planted in the red volcanic soils of Woori Yallock in 2008 using the Dijon clone 95. Fermented then matured in French oak barrels (20% new) on its gross lees for 10 months followed by a further six months in tank before bottling. Complex from the outset - struck match, white nectarine, fennel seed, white flowers, lime skin and dried pear. The impression is of it being crystalline and almost floral. The flavours carry over on to the palate with background flecks of mineral, the subtlest notes of toast and vanilla bean. This is taught and linear but with a glassy texture which carries the wine to a long persistent finish. Refined mod-Oz destined for the long haul.
