This single-vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon comes from our Eden Valley estate in the rolling hills of Pewsey Vale. A complex wine that is well-rounded and finishes with silky, lingering tannins. This wine is the culmination of a long term project that started 20 years ago when we planted a small block of Cabernet Franc on a bony ridge in the highest part of the vineyard. The fruit was destemmed into an open fermenter and spent 9 months in six second-hand French hogsheads to allow full fruit expression. The wine is bright crimson with a delicate perfumed nose and a hint of pepper and spice. There is a broad palate of black fruits – satsuma plum, dark cherry and mulberry with a lingering finish.

A rich, lush wine of abundant fruits - red currants, mulberries, plums, blackberries, blueberries and cassis, this ambling fruit richness is complimented by plentiful ripe fruit tannins and the finest grained French oak.

Mountadam can boast being the “foremost producer of chardonnay in the Eden Valley” (Halliday), but their deeply layered, textural and complex reds are also creating great excitement amongst the trade. Try for yourself here with this 'exuberant' yet underrated Cabernet showing lovely florals of violets, dark brambly fruits and fine supple tannins. "A morass of mulched leaf, anise and black currant, dabbed with olive. A lovely, energetic feel, finishing with verdant cigar box tannins and a whiff of mint to menthol. The cool hills of the Eden Valley has produced a Pinot Noir of intense colour and rich flavour. The aromas of strawberry and cherry are eveident on the nose. A hint of cinnamon and clove spice also contribute to the aromatics of this wine. Layered flavours of Strawberry, Black Cherry and Plum have integrated well with clove spice to coat the mouth. The palate is soft and elegant.
