Grant Nash McLaren Vale Mouvedre Grenache Shiraz
Grant Nash is a name coined by an autocorrect of the word Grenache. A group of like-minded Grenache fans produce the wines, largely from McLaren Vale sites and they are very good. Ironically this blend with Shiraz and Mourvedre – puts Mourvedre into ascendancy. "... a mixed spice nose of clove, pepper and other brown spices, the palate full-bodied and deep with good tannin structure and a touch of firmness. The fruit does the talking but it's far from simplistic. The Mourvèdre shows through and it has ageing potential.” (Huon Hooke, The Real Review).

RedHeads March of Progress Organic Shiraz
RedHeads was always something of a rebel! The ‘movement’ started in 2002 in the McLaren Vale – in a cellar where young winemakers could come in their spare time and make just the sort of small-scale wine they dreamed of (not like they did in their day job). Since then, the winery has moved home a few times, and today make their wines in the Barossa, at one of Australia's leading eco-friendly cellars. There, surrounded by many of Australia's biggest wine names, they handcraft revolutionary wines from top batches of grapes, rescued from under the noses of the big players. March of Progress celebrates a path in the green direction, using the best rows of organic Shiraz from top McLaren Vale grower Jock Bosworth. Rich and weighty – velvet texture, rich black fruits, long and weighty, rounded tannins.
Chalk Hill McLaren Vale Syrah
Enjoy an excellent vintage Syrah from the superb Chalk Hill, where "The range of Syrah here is stellar." (Ned Goodwin MW) with Gold and high scores up to 96pts. "Offering fabulous fruit purity with seductive complexity, the wine shows Black Doris plum, blueberry, violet, dried herb, game and roasted hazelnut aromas on the nose. The palate is equally satisfying with excellent weight and plush texture, wonderfully framed by velvety mouthfeel and beautifully melded tannins. Graciously opulent with an impressively long, expansive finish. 95pts” (Sam Kim, Wine Orbit). "The growth of Chalk Hill has accelerated after passing from parents John and Diana Harvey to grape-growing sons Jock and Tom. Both are heavily involved in wine industry affairs" (James Halliday). The excellent Renae Hirsch heads an impressive wine team.
Mr Riggs Shiraz
Made by Rockstar winemaker Ben Riggs, the McLaren Vale Shiraz is as true an expression as one could hope for. The fifth release of the wine is based around a core of pristine fruit with dark red berries, hints of spice, earth, tar and leather and with seamlessly integrated oak. Ripe tannins are apparent but not overwhelming, meaning this is a wine which can be enjoyed now or in the next 10-15 years.
Majella Shiraz
Consistency has been the hallmark of Majella Shiraz for some time now. Ripe fresh raspberry and mulberry fruit is supported by fine tannins and subtle oak.
Schild Pramie Shiraz
Every so often there are parcels of wine that generate tremendous excitement amongst the winemakers at Schild Estate. They set this aside to make Prämie, the wine that defines the best of the vintage and the land on which it was grown. Intense primary fresh plum flavours show again on the palate, where they hold their presence all the way through to roll out soft and pillowy at the finish. A firmly present, but fine tannin framework provides just enough focus and lift for the fruit to ensure added complexity, but retaining vibrancy to the mouth flavours of this Shiraz.
Serafino Magnitude Shiraz
In true McLaren Vale style, Serafino Magnitude Shiraz shows the rich fruit of the vintage, complex and integrated through maturation in French and American oak for 20 months.
