Curtis Ancestor McLaren Vale Shiraz

We have dated our family tree back to 1471, where Paolo Curtis started wine production on the original Curtis family property “la cavata” near cassino, central Italy. We made this wine to commemorate the sacrifice & toil of centuries of hard work that have led us to now. This Shiraz fruit was hand-picked from 80-year-old vines, gently destemmed & cold soaked on skins for 14 days, Fermented slowly for a further 14 days. Giving time to allow slow extraction of colour & silky tannins. This extra time allows the wine to develop a great depth of flavour & palate structure. The ferment is slowly pressed straight into a mixture of French & American oak barrels The magic happens over the next 24 months where the wine will develop and integrate into a special montage of flavourful delights. aromas of ripe red berries, vanilla & Coconut. Full-Bodied palate structure with a complex mix of flavours, Ripe red berries, coconut, chocolate & spice. Great middle palate sweetness with well-integrated oak characters. well balanced & long silky tannin finish.

Pende Valde The Mary NO.2 MCLAREN VALE

The Mary No.2 from McLaren Vale exemplifies the essence of single vineyard winemaking, where the unique terroir of the region is meticulously captured in each bottle. This vintage is renowned for its rich, full fruit character, with minimal oak influence allowing fresh, clean berry flavors to dominate the palate. McLaren Vale offers a balanced climate that enhances both sugar and acidity in the grapes, while the diverse soil composition imparts subtle complexity. The vineyard's westerly aspect on the southern coastal foothills ensures full ripening, contributing to the wine's vibrant aromas and deep, rich color. Crafted using traditional winemaking techniques, The Mary No.2 delivers a pure, expressive taste that reflects the harmony of climate, soil, and terrain, offering an exceptional and authentic wine experience.

Ivyburn Aldersey Shiraz

This is a smart wine. It feels very harmonious, there's fruit intensity but it's not *too* fruity, there's present oak but it's not *too* overpowering, there's spice and tannin but they're not *too* drying. Everything has been worked into this classy number in thoughtful moderation and the result is a wine greater than the sum of its parts. From the well known, hand-tended, vineyards of the Willunga sub-region of McLaren Vale, picked in the (widely lorded) year of 2021 - it's safe to say we were holding this one to a pretty high standard. Well, this wine exceeded even our lofty expectations. Juicy dark mulberry and black cherry, vibrant spiced plum and chocolate characters are expressed with both intensity and complexity. Subtle, but ever present, oak characters manifest themselves in slight chocolate and vanilla notes along with fine grained tannins and build to a silky, spice driven finish. Happy to sit in the cellar for 15+ years, but why delay happiness right?
