As a young winemaker travelling the globe, the 'Old World' Chardonnay that Ben Riggs fell in love with in the 1980's were described as 'like drinking cold chalk soup', and have inspired him to make this beloved Adelaide Hills Chadonnay. Over the years Ben has been searching for the perfect cold site to make a dry Chardonnay renowned for the purity of its aroma and taste.

The vines used to produce DMZ Chardonnay are selected from premium sites on De Morgenzon, at elevations ranging between 100 to 300 meters above sea level. Close proximity to the ocean provides a beneficial cooling effect, with the weathered granite and sandstone soils contributing minerality and natural freshness. A beautiful Stellenbosch Chardonnay, this wine shows citrus blossom, green apple, and lemon zest. This is complimented by a refined palate, with a vibrant acidity and an interwoven flavour profile of ripe pear, melon and a granitic minerality. Hints of spice, subtle oak and buttery undertones proceed to develop to delight the taste buds.

Kooyong Clonale Chardonnay has a complex nose with citrus varietal aromas meshed with classy oak. Seamless and creamy on the palate with long, fine cool-climate flavours. Another cracking wine from Sandro Mosele that just oozes quality.

Coldstream Hills has been consistently producing excellent Yarra Valley Chardonnay for years and if anything it keeps getting better. Stone fruit and grapefruit characters are supported by creamy nutty oak.

Deep Woods Hillside Chardonnay exhibits lifted nectarine and white blossom characters. A suggestion of cedar like oak frames the generous stone fruit characters and complex chipped shell minerality. The palate is clean and lively with tremendous depth of ripe stone-fruit flavour nuanced by cashew notes. Bright citrusy acidity ensures and long and seamless finish providing enhanced structure and length.

The 2017 Chardonnay fruit was handpicked in pristine condition. Lifted bouquet of nectarines and stone fruits with an underlay of toasty spice. Barrel ferment characters add complexity while flavours of citrus and cashew swirl around the palate to give a long flavoursome finish.

Planted on east facing slopes for optimal exposure to morning sunlight and Granitic soils resulting in highly concentrated fruit with excellent natural acidity. The concentration of thie wine is lifted by the mouth-watering acidity bringing balance and long length. Flavours of Green apple, apricot, peach, hints of honey and floral aromas characterise a fresh nose.

The Third Generation series is a modern style Chardonnay, Robert Stein Winery has crafted with the exceptional fruits from Mudgee to create this great expression of the vineyard and regional characteristics in a bottle. With the aromas of grapefruit, peach and citrus, fermentation was 80% in stainless steel tank with high lees contact. The remainder time in older oak undergoing partial Malolactic Fermentation with wild yeast, which adds diversity and complexity to the finish.
