Little bit of old school Vs new school Chardonnay here. Chardonnay that tastes like Chardonnay. Nice and textured with generosity while still being fresh. A ripping acid line that brings it all together. This is a Tuesday night in a glass kind of Chardonnay, did someone say Nannas roast chicken?

This Yarra Valley Chardonnay was made from fruit sourced entirely from Medhurst Estate Vineyard. All fruit handpicked whole bunch pressed and fermented in French oak (10% new) where Indigenous fermentation in barrel lasting around one month. We decided to put one third of the blend through MLF to soften the natural acids in this cool and vibrant year. This adds depth and complexity to the pure stone fruit palate. The wine spent 5 months in oak before blending with full solids into tank. The wine was bottled with minimal filtration on August 30th, 2018. Bright pale straw with green hues, extremely vibrant and brilliant in the glass. The nose shows hints of grapefruit and stone fruit, both rich and flavoursome yet subtle. No real oak influence, but plenty of mealy, flinty notes. The palate is poised and powerful, showing off a benchmark Yarra Valley vintage. Again oak in the background it simply helps usher the beautiful pure fruit to the back of an effortless long and fine palate. This wine will look terrific over the medium term.

Organically farmed Sauvignon Blanc from Yarra Valley

Barrel fermentation with lees stirring allows the peach and apricot fruit characters of the Chardonnay grape to shine. The secondary malo-lactic fermentation gives a full buttery smoothness, balance and length to the finish of this magnificent cool climate wine.

Chardonnay - Golden straw with distinct green tinges. Aromas of lifted peach, melon and grapefruit. An array of other fruit flavours is complemented by toasty characters. The finish is crisp and lingering.

The 2021 Yarra Valley Chardonnay opens with aromas of nectarine and hazelnut. Its palate reveals layers of citrus and stone fruit, accented by subtle notes of vanilla and clove. Well-integrated oak provides structure, leading to a creamy finish with hints of toasted brioche and a touch of minerality.

The 2023 vintage of Rob Dolan True Colours Chardonnay from Yarra Valley is a true masterpiece. With its pale golden hue, this wine immediately catches the eye. On the nose, it boasts enticing aromas of ripe peach, citrus, and a subtle hint of vanilla. Upon first sip, the palate is greeted with a burst of vibrant acidity, followed by layers of ripe stone fruits, pineapple, and a touch of oak. The mouthfeel is velvety and luxurious, with a long, lingering finish. This Chardonnay truly showcases the skill and expertise of winemaker Rob Dolan, who is based in Victoria. With its perfect balance of fruit, acidity, and oak, this wine is a true reflection of the Yarra Valley terroir. It is best enjoyed with creamy pasta dishes or roasted chicken.
