The trailblazers of the Adelaide Hills have created another outstanding wine. A superb expression of modern cool-climate Shiraz; Shaw & Smith is elegantly spicy and brimming with supple red-fruit flavours matched by fine tannins. An absolute ripper.

This complex and elegant wine has lifted aromas of fresh rich red fruits and white mint chocolate. Strawberries, raspberries, dark cherries and blackcurrants are the base of this wine but has depth in texture and flavour are given by rich tannins and subtle spice from ageing in French oak. Well matched to heavier weight dishes - veal and beef based. Also perfect with hard cheeses and aged cheddar.

Some whole bunch and new oak barrels deliver flavours of mint, blackcurrant &; plum, bright purple with a sweet jamminess that is balanced brilliantly with 25% new French oak (9 months) and gentle tannins. Hints of white pepper, spice and earthiness give this wine a long future.

Campbell Mattinson Meaty and spicy with black cherry and plum flavours rumbling throughout. The tannin feels dry and sturdy, the fruit brooding and dark, but the floral and sweet meat characters here lend it both a prettiness and a touch of the exotic.

This is the sixth release of this wine and it's richness is again on display. This is rich, ripe, Hills shiraz looking a lot like the 'Vales. Black and blue fruits dominate with a hint of eucalypt and a palate supported by 20% brand new Frenach oak. A very classy wine that demands decanting to enjoy now but will offer improvement over the next 10-20 years.

100% whole bunch pressed and wild fermented in one year old French oak for 10 months. A dark plum colour which immediately reflects the origin of cool climate Adelaide Hills. The bouquet is extremely complex with hints of spice, aniseed, wood smoke and flashes of star anise. The palate is rich and lush from start to finish and has excellent breadth and length. The mid palate explodes withluscious blood plum fruits in the mix, chalky tannins & a neat touch of fresh raspberry acidity to finish. The balance impeccable.
