Wynns Coonawarra Shiraz Museum
This iconic Australian label is remarkably consistent. The 2012 offers juicy boysenberry, spice and meaty touches, and a medium-bodied, soft, juicy mouthful is trimmed in ripe tannins. All of our Museum Release wines are kept in a special vault with an environment that is both temperature and humidity controlled. The temperature is set to a constant 14 degrees – ideal for maturing wine. They are then tested regularly throughout the year, with each wine documented, marked for when it should be checked again and released at the optimal drinking age.
Majella The Musician Cabernet Shiraz
This Cabernet Shiraz blend from Majella, icons of Coonawarra, is all about bright youthful fruit. Made with little oak influence, the upfront mulberry and blackcurrant characters are supported by fine lingering tannins.
Elena’s Wines One & Only Cabernet Sauvignon
Cabernet’s dark and brooding deeply delved impenetrable black purple.Classic cabernet again: blackberries and cassis, a distant waft of tomato foliage and of green tobacco leaf; duxelle mushrooms and a sawdusted butcher’s shop floor. A seamless olfactory journey from primary fruit aromatics to secondary and subtle oak underlay. The complete package. Ripe blackberry fruits held in assured check by a neat acid tension. The berry flavours still sweep through the palate, but as quickly as they do the innate tannins of cabernet dry every aspect of your mouth out, and that returning acidity makes everything then taste as fresh and new as the first day of Spring. Definitive cabernet sauvignon flavours and structure, but all too approachable. And that approachability makes this red wine too moreish. The tannins want foods with fat and or a pleasant oiliness. Lamb chops cooked over charcoal. A slowly roasted shoulder of lamb. Kebab and falafel. We would. Oh, and this bottle requires four like or even dis like minded people with four appetites and four correct attitudes towards luncheon.
Rymill Coonawarra Pioneers Sauvignon Blanc
This Sauvignon Blanc hails from our cool-climate southern Coonawarra vineyard. The wine is spritely with spring blossom, lime zest and juicy white nectarine. This wine has lifted and passionfruit, guava and fresh citrus balanced by bright aromas of spring jasmine and fresh-cut lime, along with a delicate and focused palate of white nectarine and grapefruit. These flavours meld together beautifully with a very finely textured mouthfeel and crisp lime finish.
Parker Estate Abbey Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon
An exceptional showcase of time and place. This wine could only be from Coonawarra, only from 2021 and - if we're being real - only from Parker Estate. This wine will be drinking beautifully from right now until 2035 - to make a conservative estimate. Sourced from Parker Estate's renowned ‘Abbey’ vineyard in southern Coonawarra - where the unique microclimate delivers a longer ripening season and the world-famous terra rossa soils make their mark on every single grape. The result? A tighter tannin structure, deeper fruit concentration, and serious cellar-worthy swagger. That said, this wine is drinking wonderfully already, at such a young age, and those who like their wines with a bit of grunt will find happiness in its graceful austerity. Or, if you're one for cellaring, dig a whole in the backyard, set you're alarm for 2035 and forget about it. The magic of stelvin-sealed bottle development will take care of the rest.
P Series by Patrick Cabernet Sauvignon
We are a small team at Patrick of Coonawarra, making award winning wine from our estate grown vineyards within the Limestone Coast of South Australia. We produce product of passion, perseverance, people & place. This wine has been handcrafted to combine bold blackberry fruits with the spice and earthiness for which Coonawarra is renowned. It is medium bodied in structure, yet has concentration and elegance with a smooth finish. WINEMAKER’S NOTE: This Cabernet is grown in our northern Coonawarra vineyard. It spent time in seasoned French oak for 20 months, before being bottled and cellared before release. VINTAGE NOTE: The season had a fantastic start, with generous Winter rainfall regenerating the aquifer and ensuring adequate subsoil moisture coming into Spring. We saw great canopy growth but a cool November delayed flowering and brought the bunch weights down to just below average. The majority of the state suffered from dry conditions, however our cool climate and on average rainfall kept the vines healthy and made for a long growing season, perfect for Cabernet.
Cape Jaffa The Aura Mount Benson Cabernet Franc
Cape Jaffa was a pioneer both in the Mt Benson region and in terms of its focus on biocynamics and sustainability. The first of the Mount Benson wineries,Cape Jaffa’s fully certified biodynamic vineyard provides 50% of production, with additional fruit sourced from a certified biodynamic grower in Wrattonbully. This is a lovely drop for warmer weather. As Shanteh Wale says in The Halliday Wine Companion, this is “made for drinking and good times. Serve slightly chilled" but it is not without complexity. "Blackberries, prune, plums and thistle. Picked oregano, margoram and green olive.”
Penola Estate Shiraz
A medium bodied wine generously flavoured with chocolate and dark berry fruit flavours. A perfect accompaniment of everything from pizza to aged cheddar and the winemaker's choice, pecorino.
Penola Estate Cabernet Sauvignon
Penola is one of the original producers in Coonawarra and they have a long and healthy track record with their Cabernet. This wine is elegant and well balanced with loads of dark fruits, a decent dollop of spicy oak and impressive length and character. It is medium bodied and finishes with nice some tannic grip. This is a Coonawarra Cabernet that will save on the purse strings and amaze the senses. Pairs up perfectly with a rich beef dish.
