Jamiesons Run Shiraz
With 2008 being one of the greatest vintages recorded in modern history in South Australia, little gems like this 2008 Jamiesons Run Shiraz are worth their weight in gold. Ripe berry fruit with touches of mint chocolate biscuit and hints of black pepper spice. A few years in our climate controlled cellars has softened the tannins nicely to provide a fantastic value for money red wine suited to many cuisine types.
Hereford Heathcote Shiraz
Wow, what a blockbuster full-bodied red! If you're looking for the perfect wine to match with that thick-cut BBQ steak, Hereford Shiraz is your answer. The aroma is full of ripe berries and a hint of chocolate with a velvety palate to follow. This wine could never be accused of being a shrinking violet. Full-blown body and richness is its trademark and would be a crying shame not to enjoy a glass with your friends and family this weekend.
MadFish Gold Turtle Shiraz
Made by iconic winery Howard Park, the fruit for MadFish Gold Turtle Shiraz is sourced from the South West of the state where Shiraz thrives. This wine has sweet berry and spice characters complemented by a touch of white pepper and well handled French oak. Lovely!
Eden Hall Springton Shiraz
Deep crimson red with a perfumed nose of dark fruits, spice and white pepper. The palate fills with ripe black fruits, blueberries, plums and finishes with silky smooth tannins.
Logan Apple Tree Flat Shiraz
Logan's Apple Tree Flat wines pay homage to the people, places and experiences of the Logan winery on the label, but also within the bottle. Quality, varietal and terroir specific can be used to describe these wines and inparticular the Shiraz. In the glass the wine is a lovely crimson red colour which precedes a nose of fresh red berries and hint of earthen tones. In the mouth the wine truly sings with a mixture of berries, plums and spice.
Franklin Tate Estates Shiraz
The Tate name is synonymous with Margaret River after John Tate helped create arguable the regions most well-known winery, Evans & Tate. Today, Franklin Tate has brought the Tate name back to life with new, exciting terroir driven wines. Franklin painstakingly selected the very best vineyard sites, those that held unique micro-sites within them to enable him to achieve his goal of producing some of the regions best wines. This Shiraz was picked at optimum ripeness and fermented with 10% whole bunch. French barriques were used in the fermentation process to give a softness to the palate, as was a small percentage of Viognier. The result is a great Margaret River Shiraz with grounded savoury notes along with ripeness and spicy lift.
