Plum, blackberries and chocolate aromas complement a palate filled with red berry fruit, warm spice and sweet vanilla flavours influenced by high quality French oak. Fine tannins give structure completing a mouth-filling textural wine that drinks brilliantly as a young wine but will continue to develop with careful cellaring for the next 10 years.

Fermented for 7 – 10 days in traditional open top fermenters the wine undergoes malo-lactic fermentation in French and American hogsheads followed by twenty months oak maturation. Penfolds Bin 128
Created in 1962, Penfolds Bin 128 is a regional wine that reflects the unique climate and growing conditions of South Australia's Coonawarra district and the relatively elegant style of cool climate Shiraz. From the 1980 vintage, French oak replaced American, highlighting the pepper, spice and floral characteristics that define this style. Since the mid-1980s, a greater attention has been paid to fruit ripeness, resulting in a wine that is fuller in style and structure.
