Koshu, Japanese indigenous Vitis Vinifera cultivation variety, is said to be a unique grape varietal in Asia. The character of Koshu is slight but pleasant bitterness originated from its pink grey skin. Fermented and aged in stainless steel tank. This wine goes well with sushi and cuisines using dashi. Brilliant pale yellow with green tone. White flower aroma with oranges such as navel orange. Smooth touch and rich fruit across the palate. From middle aroma to finish, subtle bitterness brings its distinctiveness.

The citrus rind and grapefuit lead the palate to an overall fine yet textural journey. Cape Mentelle Chardonnay had this distinctive minerally line too, apparent with focussed refreshing acidity. Faint nuancesof soft nougat and cashews also add to what is a harmonious balance and an elegant and length finish.

It displays subtle fruit characters of blood orange, musk, ginger, apricot and gooseberry on the nose with well-integrated savoury oak and acidity on the palate. It has a textural silky finish. A perfect foil for Munster or similar washed-rind cheese.

Deep Woods Estate Reserve Chardonnay gives aromas of fresh stone fruit and citrus blossom combining with warm straw, cedar spice and chipped oyster shell. The Palate displays pure and elegant stone fruit, lime zest and jasmine. A fine acid backbone combines with lees-derived texture to produce a wine of depth, and complexity with an underlying minerality.

Giant Steps plays it's part in the rapid accension of Australian Chardonnay back to the position it once held here. That being of the king of white varieties.
