Penfolds Maxs Pinot Noir is a tribute to former Chief Winemaker Max Schubert 1948 - 1975, a legend in Penfolds history. Enticing aromatics, with exotic fruits of the forest leaping from the glass. Raspberry, black cherry, olive tapenade and oolong tea are framed by a subtle char-toast character. Hints of sea spray and a distinct Campari note linger.

Bin 8 has been crafted in the traditional Penfolds style. Ripe, balanced fruit flavours are supported by softly integrated oak resulting in an impressive, smooth red wine. The family Grenache block on Thiele Road in Bethany are one of the old vines planted in the 40's and still producing fantastic fruit today. Schwarz has dark inky purple colour with a great aromas of sour cherry, ripe dark fruits and a hint of fresh raspberry on the nose. Although not fruit driven, the red fruits characters are lifted with some earthy oak undertone on the palate. Hint of fresh spices with some subtle tannin towards a rather long finish. A bold wine with a difference.
