Bordeaux’s prestigious Médoc is renowned for producing some of the region’s finest reds. In just a few short decades, the Taylor family have etched out a formidable reputation for producing high quality wine from their Clare Valley vineyards. This textbook Merlot captures the varietal characters of berries, fruitcake and velvety tannins. The judicious use of French and American oak adds mocha and vanilla softens and rounds the palate.

Forester Estate is owned by Vignerons Kevin and Jenny McKay. It’s situated in Yallingup, in the northern Margaret River region. Kevin’s motto is to build complexity and texture into his wines literally from the ground up! The superb wines are made by Todd Payne who has had “a distinguished career, starting in the Great Southern, then the Napa, Plantagenet, Esk Valley in Hawke’s Bay, and on to the Northern Rhône” (Halliday). This is a beautifully expressive wine. Inky, rich and herbal Cabernet melds with plummy, velvety, mouthfilling Merlot to create a really layered and complex wine you want to keep on sipping.

This wine displays a sustained and brilliant colour of great depth. The nose has already evolved and shows blackcurrant and other black fruit aromas. On the palate tannins are soft and smooth, with a steady balance and a long, fresh finish. Aromas of fruit, tobacco and liquorice harmoniously blend with those from the oak, giving rise to flavours which coat the palate without roughness. Overall a tender wine which has passed through a spirited youth to reveal the elegance typical of Chantemerle's terroir.

Mouton Cadet Select, is the result of the selection from the best parcels of highest terroirs across the Bordeaux region. Created in 1930, by Baron Philippe de Rothschild, Mouton Cadet has become a standard-setter for Bordeaux wines in France and rapidly overseas. The nose initially reveals black cherry, very ripe red fruit notes, hints of mocha and spice. From a supple and voluptuous attack on attractive fruit, the mid-palate displays powerful flavours with forward red fruit, leading into a long and spicy finish.
