The nose displays apple, lemon sherbet, pear and citrus notes. The palate is light and crisp with green apple, spearmint and mandarin. It's vibrant and pure in the mouth with a gentle, creamy texture.

Church Block first appeared back in 1972 under the watchful eye of Greg Trott and was taken by one of the original vineyards that ran alongside the small Bethany Church, across the road from Wirra Wirra's old ironstone cellars. Over the last 4 decades, it has become one of Australia's favourites. The 2005 Church Block is showing just what a little patience can do. After six years, the velvet texture is the dominant feature with integrated tannin taking a backseat.

A true expression of Chardonnay grown at Lyndoch in the Barossa Valley in all its fruitful glory. Intense bouquet is pleasantly fruity with highlights of green pear and clingstone peach accented by the flowery notes of apple blossom against a genteel boisé background. The palate is a rush of citrus and white peach with fresh acidity. Clean, lemon-citrus and Pink Lady apples with a layer of minerality and viscosity. Pale straw with a green hue. Lifted citrus and white peach aromas with hints of honey and subtle oak spice. The palate is rich yet balanced, showing stone fruit, lemon curd and a creamy texture, supported by fresh acidity and fine minerality. Finishes long and smooth with gentle oak influence.

Cherry, raspberry and rose petal aromas are intermingled with hints of blueberry. Juicy cherry flavours of Grenache continue in a rich, ripe, textured palate. Terrific with smoked salmon.
