Tamar Ridge Riesling

Grown in the West Tamar region of Tasmania this Riesling captures the crisp delicate characters of its cool-climate origins with perfumed floral aromas and intense pure flavours of lime and spice.

Ninth Island Riesling

Aroma: Lemon blossom, apple, mandarin, wildflowers and stonefruit with hints of musk and mineral. Palate: Refreshing flavours of lime and fresh juicy citrus with limestone minerality and a clean crisp finish. Seamless balance, mouth-watering tension and lasting concentration. Cold harvested at night. Following a brief period of skin contact the grapes are carefully pressed using fully protective handling to avoid juice oxidation. This preserves naturally vibrant varietal aromas and flavours. Juice is racked off solids and fermented slowly at cool temperatures in stainless steel to enhance freshness. Bottled under screw cap. Ninth Island is one of the labels of the Kreglinger group. Krelinger is a Belgium based company that was formed as a family business in 1797, their business brought them to Australia in 1897 but it was not until the year 2000 that they diversified into wine. Ninth Island represents the second label of the Pipers Brook vineyards, based in Tasmania. The name refers to a tiny island that sits alone in the Bass Strait, just offshore from the Pipers Brook Estate. The Ninth Island vineyard can be found on the banks of the Tamar. The site is comparatively warm and perfect for the production of table wine styles such as Pinot Noir, Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay. They are predominantly made as early drinking styles, with all the fruit sourced from Tamar valley. The Ninth Island's windswept, pristine environment is the inspiration behind this modern range of wines that capture the wild flavours of Tasmania.

Riversdale Estate Pisces Chardonnay

Ah, Tasmanian Chardonnay, never leave me. There's a creaminess here, a generosity that entices you to drink more. Peach yoghurt, almond croissant and custard apple do their rounds on the palate before the texture and minerals start coming through, bringing with them some zestier flavours - lemon drop and green apple. This could go either way and, while it is drinking very happily now, I'd be equally interested to see what a few years might bring. Drink: 2022-2025. Price: $35. Rating: 90/100.

Pure Origin Tasmanian Dry Gin

Tasmanian-made copper pot still gin from Pure Origins. Classic juniper berry, earthy and herbal notes give way to aromas of bergamot and lavender with subtle spice and a long finish. A must try for the gin devotee.

Anon Pinot Noir

A complex and alluring Pinot Noir, crafted with sophistication to embody the essence of Tasmanias unique natural environment and its synthesis with stylish modern Pinot Noir. Clear, bright, cherry red, showing fragrant aromas of strawberry, red cherry and spice. A smooth wine with bright fruit that is balanced by subtle, savoury characters and ultra-fine tannins. Truly 'Tasmanian' in style, this delicate wine is both elegant and sophisticated.

Riversdale Estate Sparkling Rosé

Russell & Suitor By the Horns Pinot Noir

Le Pere Jules Poire Pays d'Auge

Pears are a lot more fragile than apples. They are harvested by hand and crushed as soon as possible. Maceration, for a period of time, is not necessary and there is no defecation as with cider. Alcoholic fermentation can then proceed and filtration. It will take 8 to 12 weeks for the sparkling effect to occur naturally. Taste is mostly characterized by fineness and subtlety. Served very cool or with a dash of blackcurrant liqueur. Matches well with fish, crustaceans, white meat or any salad.

Riversdale Estate Scorpio Pinot Noir

Freshness and an easy flow - red petals drifting down a slow-moving river, perhaps. There's a little whiff of umami on the first smell, vegemite maybe, but it quickly blows off. Black cherry, davidson plum, crushed pomegranate and cooking chocolate - there's a nice mix of bright and brooding fruit. Satiny tannins please the palate before turning savoury and some notes of tart red fruits spring up in the back palate with the acid to add complexity. Very much a Pinot to drink now. Drink: 2022-2024. Price: $35. Rating: 90/100.
