Each year we make a Reserve Riesling from the very best parcel of fruit out of one of our four Riesling blocks. For the fourth year in a row Block 7 was the stand out. Pale straw with a perfumed nose of rose petal and jasmine. Lime over zesty lemon on the palate with an acid backbone that delivers a long steely finish. Discover the flavour of Reserve Parcel Riesling 2017. The nose consists of lemon and lime aromas with hints of pineapple. These flavours are continued onto the palate with the subtle addition of lemon blossom. Further sipping yields mineral notes with a long, lingering finish.

After aging, the wine shows a pale straw colour with gentle golden hues. Aromas of dried herbs, white flowers and preserved citrus lead to a textured palate of grapefruit pith, lime and rosemary. The acidity has softened with age, revealing a balanced, mineral finish that is drinking beautifully now.

With shallow, mineral-rich soils as indicated by rocky outcrops and scattered “Fieldstones”, the Zieglers identified the Eden Valley as an ideal location to grow elegant Riesling. Aromatic with bright citrus and honeysuckle flavours, natural acidity and a crisp, dry finish.
