This wine from Vickery displays hallmark Watervale aromas showing pure Riesling characteristics of fresh lemon-lime citrus, floral honeysuckle and a creamy richness. The flavours are fresh lemon citrus, with soft mineral acidity supported by the persistent and mouth-watering finish. An absolute delight to drink in its first flush of youth, but will intrigue and reward with additional complexity upon cellaring for 5-20 years.

This is as fresh as they come: nashi pear, grapefruit, lemongrass, pineapple… I can imagine fresh, dew-dappled bouquets of herbs, citrusy zest finely grated over the top. Reminds me of the Little Creatures Pale Ale kind of aromatics - resinous and celebratory. Layered too, but instead of getting deeper it gets even more spritely, more exciting and aromatic. The finish is clean and refreshing, the colour has a tinge of pink.

The current vintage has racy lime juice and citrus blossom with driving mineral acidity on the finish. 'This may be the best-value single vine wine in the country. The cooler climate wine is energetic and precise, rippling with zesty citrus and a bit of blossom, a dusting of talc and sprinkling of lemon thyme.
