Mount Horrocks Semillon strikes the perfect balance between being aromatic and oaked. It also strides the line by being more full-bodied than Riesling but lighter than Chardonnay. The fruit for this wine was sourced from the famous Watervale region off the Castine family Golf House vineyard. A classic dry style of Riesling with provocative lime, lemon and floral aromas. The tantalising citrus flavours on the palate harmonise well with the refreshing acidity, finishing with good length of flavour.

Aromas of freshly cut green apple blend with fennel and vanilla on a complex but restrained nose. The palate bursts with flavours of lime juice and white blossoms. The acid is firm but harmonious and drives the palate long through the finish. The wine finishes with a lovely dryness and feeling of refreshment.

The development of this wine was an integral part of a winemakers 9-year, but ultimately unsuccessful, battle with bowel cancer. The first wine under this label was a Riesling and to this day, part of the proceeds from the sale of each bottle to fund his sons education.

Aromas of lemon, grapefruit juice, brown lime and white flowers combine with a lick of mineral and wet slate on the nose. The palate is refreshing, with flavours of grapefruit and citrus rind with a white floral lift. The fruit weight shows the hallmarks of Watervale Riesling with zesty acidity, that gives line but still allows a sense of generosity.

The fruit for this excellent Clare Riesling is sourced from Kaesler's estate vineyards which have an average vine age of 58 years. Brilliant water like core with a greenish tinged outskirts. Jumping out of the glass with intensity are lime, lemon and orange rind scents followed by talc and mineral notes. Mouth watering flavours of lime, citrus and orange rind are delivered with terrific concentration and textural volume across the palate. Chalky talc and flinty mineral elements linger underneath. Finishes dry and crisp with crunchy acidity and a long snappy aftertaste. Drink over the next 5-6 years. Alc. 13%
