Cullen Cabernet Merlot
Cullen, world famous for their Diana Madeline Cabernet Merlot, have introduced another Cab Merlot, a distinguished offshoot of the Langton's classified Diana Madeline. Majority Cabernet Sauvignon blended with Merlot and touch of Petit Verdot gives the wine a luscious, bright cherry flavour with red berries playing their part. Aged in French oak, 40% of which was new, for one year. Delicious to serve with veal, lamb or beef today, but will also reward up to 10 years in the cellar.
Cullen Amber Semillon Sauvignon Blanc
The Cullen Amber Semillon Sauvignon Blanc is the first Amber wine made from Cullen Wines. It is a blend of Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc coming from our certified Biodynamic vineyards. The idea behind this wine was to make a white wine like a red.
Fraser Gallop Parterre Chardonnay
The wines of Fraser Gallop Estate are intensely flavoured, textured and complex. Only the finest quality French oak barrels are used for all Fraser Gallop Estate wines, with very specific Bordelais coopers used for the Cabernet Sauvignon and Semillon Sauvignon Blanc blends, and Burgundian coopers for the Chardonnay. The complete winemaking process takes place at the estate - picking to vinification to barrel maturation to bottling to cellaring. Fraser Gallop Estate is an estate grown, produced and bottled wine. Flavours of lemon curd and grapefruit with searing length. A wine with clarity and finesse. A tightly focussed and very precise wine showing seamless fruit purity with the lightly toasted French oak very much in the background. Crystalline acidity and a mouth-watering finish complete this Chardonnay.
Howard Park Margaret River Chardonnay
The palate exudes fleshy primary fruits, layered with nutmeal, lemon butter and brioche. A chalky, mineral texture and fresh citrus acidity continues the bounce.
Capel Vale Black Label Chardonnay
Capel Vale is family-owned and one of the pioneers of the West Australian wine industry, first planting vines in 1974. And the duck? A symbol of the native mountain ducks that inhabit the nearby Capel River. In the glass: Pale with green freshness. On the nose: Rich and nutty aromas with stonefruit, citrus and struck match. Man O' War Gravestone Sauvignon Blanc Semillon
Flinty sulphide notes over aromatics of guava, gooseberry and nettles with undertones of lychee and chalk dust. Fresh with vibrant acidity balanced by weight and texture from the barrel fermentation and a long persistent gin and tonic like finish. 75% Sauvignon Blanc, 25% Semillon In 2017 our free draining hillside vineyards paid back the enormous effort that goes into working the steep sites producing fruit that was in very good physical condition that retained the ripeness of flavour despite the adverse weather. Our sauvignon blanc was hand harvested off a number of hilltop blocks and was whole bunch pressed to directly to barrel for wild fermentation on full juice lees. The semillon was gently pressed and settled before being racked clear for fermentation in old seasoned barrels. Following fermentation the wines stayed on lees for nine months in barrel before blending. The Man O War story begins with a special piece of land rich in history. Located at the eastern end of Waiheke Island, Man O War is a stunning array of coastal hillsides with high cliffs and pristine beaches forming a ruggedly beautiful coastline. Over two hundred years after Cook first sighted Man O War, and convinced that world class wine could be grown here they began planting their first vines in 1993. Today, Man O War consists of 150 acres of vines planted in 76 individual hillside blocks, each with a distinct soil profile and micro climate. Every single block bears the footprints, and sometimes the names, of those who transformed Man O Wars rugged hillsides into a spectacular patchwork of vines. Each block has been meticulously designed with different rootstocks, clones and planting densities to best match the specific terroir on offer. Driven by this blueprint, their white varieties have been carefully placed high on the exposed volcanic hilltops of Man O War so that they benefit from cooling sea breezes, extending their growing season and giving them great concentration and minerality, while their red varieties are draped down precipitously steep sheltered clay hillsides enjoying the heat and drainage provided, promoting serious intensity and depth.
Fire Gully Margaret River Cabernet Merlot
Atticus Finch Chardonnay
Pale yellow youthful green tinges, which I equate with quality young chardonnay. Aromatics are instantly very serious. Intense fruit nectarines and white peaches melding with lemon citrus beautiful French oak hovering just above the wine at the moment intense more than a cursory nod to Burgundy. The tiniest whiff of sulphides perfect for a wine of this age. When sipped, the wine shows its incredible intensity, no doubt derived from the very low yield.
