DE BORTOLI WINES Single Vineyard Section A7 Chardonnay, Yarra Valley

Troy Payten and Ben Jones are making wines with soul & personality out of the Yarra Valley. They have a tremendous passion for wine, something that can be found in every glass of their wines. Fruit comes from Tarrawarra and is handled with all the classic chardonnay techniques. Oak maturation, malolactic fermentation and long lees contact. The result is a flinty style with notes of toast and whipped cream. Yum!

Estate dry-grown vines, planted '69. Hand-picked, whole-bunch pressed, wild-fermented in French oak (30% new), matured for 10 months. Bright & complex nose of blossom, stonefruit, candied figs & lemongrass with subtle background oak. Generosity of stonefruits flavours give fruit volume & weight to the palate. A ginger cream spice & texture lending weight with gentle vanillin oak & a fine tannin framework.

Tasting Notes: Pineapple, nectarine and lime aromatics along with lengthy butterscotch and biscotti flavours. A well-structured wine to be enjoyed from now to 2020.

The De Bortoli Windy Peak Chardonnay is vibrant yellow with green hues, shows fig-like fruit aromas with barrel ferment characters. The full flavoured palate of melon and fig has great mouth feel and texture.

This wine is straw yellow in colour with notes of vanilla, butterscotch and honeysuckle on the nose. The palate is crisp with firm acidity. It displays notes of vanilla and toast with good length and a lingering finish.Enjoy now or cellar for up to 10 years.Fruit for this wine was handpicked from our single vineyard siteThe View approx 300 metres above sea level. Pacha Mama has put down roots, out in the sticks, amidst the vines of Yarra Glen. This Chardonnay celebrates its Yarra Valley home. It's vibrant, yet complex. There's a bit of fruit, burnt matchsticks mingle with melon and citrus. It's all about harmony and balance.

The 2019 vintage was rewarded with substantial spring rains maintaining a dense canopy, providing the grapes protection over the hot summer. The perfect February ripening conditions created delicate flavours of white peach and vanillin oak spice, balanced by a crisp citrusy acidity and a long clean finish.
