The Bladnoch Bicentennial Release has been matured for 29 years in Oloroso Sherry casks and finished in Moscatel casks for a final 18 months. Only 200 bottles were made to celebrate 200 years, making this an extremely rare release. Colour: Chestnut gold. Nose: Lovely rich old Sherry aromas, acacia, honey, beeswax, orange, fruitcake, a whiff of coffee and a hint of chocolate. Palate: Soft and silky Sherry flavours. With only 309 bottles produced worldwide, the Last Drop 1968 Single Malt Scotch Whisky is the ultimate in rare and collectible whiskies. Cask 13504 yielded 168 bottle sets.Amber with long-lingering beading. A mellow nosefeel, with slight prickle after a while. The highly perfumed initial aroma scented hand-cream, attar of roses, carnations reduces in time, infused by notes of almond oil and oak shavings, with a trace of vanilla. A drop of water enhances the wood notes. A smooth texture and a sweet taste, drying in the spicy finish, with a suggestion of Friars Balsam medicine and a cooling mentholic aftertaste.
