The dark fruit aromas are underpinned by developing earthy characters, with spice and a hint of minerality. The palate shows plenty of power and concentration as the fruit unfolds, with big soft tannins, so typical from this site, and the iron-like sanguine finish. Ironheart represents the most eloquent expression of Shiraz from our Estate, grown on the most elite Shiraz block which we refer to simply as Block 15. The name Ironheart speaks to the reddish ironstone soils of this unique site. As with all of our wines, we use open-top fermenters, natural yeast fermentation and employ a careful regime of plunging, drain and returns to get the right balance of extraction. We fill 25% of the fermenter with whole clusters which adds some texture and complexity. The Yangarra philosophy centers around producing wines solely from our single-vineyard estate, where our bush-vine Grenache is the keystone variety. Deep ruby, purple in colour showing intense and creamy aromas of dark compote berry fruit with hints of blackberry, plums and mulberries peeking through. On the palate waves of the same dark berry fruit show early providing a density and voluptuousness to the mouth-feel that remains deep into the mouth and rolls out through the back. It is joined by just a hint of spice and some subtle glimpses of faint leather and sandalwood.

Mount Pleasant 1921 Vines Old Paddock Vineyard Shiraz, Hunter Valley The Mount Pleasant Block series calls on the hallowed vines planted by Maurice OSheathe Old Paddock (1921) and Rosehill (1946). The series also showcases limited quantities of wine from vines familiar to those who visit the winery, the Old Hill. Planted 1880, the vines provided fruit to OShea as hewed his reputation from and into the bedrock of the Australian wine story. Maurice O'Shea planted the Old Paddock vineyard when he took ownership of Mount Pleasant in 1921. These original 100-years-old vines produce exquisite fruit for the single-vineyard 1921 Vines Old Paddock Shiraz.

Ox Hardy 1891 Ancestor Vine Shiraz is borne from the old vines of the Hardy familys famed Upper Tintara vineyard. Planted in 1891, the quality and quantity of their yield belies their age. Andrew Ox Hardy has taken full advantage of these incredible vines, creating this wine a drinkable showcase of exactly what this incredible vineyard has to offer. ??Lavish and powerful, this wine is rich with black and purple fruits. Full of body, and incredibly long, it nevertheless finishes with remarkable freshness. SOUL GROWERS Gobell Single Vineyard Shiraz, Barossa Valley

Colour is deep red. The nose shows aniseed, tar, FruChocs and spicy oak. The fine palate entry has mulberry, cranberry, aniseed and liquorice flowing delicately with Rhone-like spicy, chewy, savoury tannins.
