The fruit for this wine was grown at the Hill Smith Vineyard at Woodside in the Adelaide Hills. The vines at this east-facing vineyard grow in alluvial loam, limestone, shale and quartz, at an altitude of around 400m. Thanks to near-perfect weather, 2021 promises to be one of the best Adelaide Hills vintages in recent memory.

In 1980, Geoff left the then family company, Thomas Hardy and Sons, to make his own way in the Australian wine world. Geoff and fellow viticulturalist Ian Leask purchased the promising Pertaringa vineyard in McLaren Vale. A few years later, Geoff found the perfect location for producing cool climate grapes in the Adelaide Hills. He planted the vineyard in 1987 and named it K1 since this unique site was the first commercial planting of vines in the Kuitpo region in the southern Adelaide Hills. 2020 Bleasdale Adelaide Hills Riesling A crisp and refreshing wine with delicate floral and citrus aromas, honeysuckle and lime leaf. The palate is generous in flavour with zesty lemon, lime and crunchy pink lady apple flavours, tangy acid with a clean persistent finish.

Bright straw colour with a watery hue. Lifted ripe peach and honeycomb aromas mix with crème brulee and spice notes.
