The distinctive, geologically complex terroir of Chavot and the Coteaux Sud d'Épernay in general is very different to the Côte des Blancs and Montagne de Reims areas where our other growers are based, and the style of wine is creamier and with more fruit.

The wine comes from the purest grape juice and it alone allows Laurent-Perrier to craft 'La Cuvée', a champagne of great finesse and a beautiful freshness obtained after a long ageing process in our cellars. Laurent-Perriers style and personality are defined by its very high proportion of Chardonnay. A bone-dry Champagne made from equal parts Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Meunier. Aged for 72 months in the historic cellars of Joseph Perrier, this Champagne exhibits delicate roses and peonies, as well as apple, pear and peach with peppery notes on the finish.

The Collection blend is dominated by Chardonnay which was of exceptional quality in the 2017 vintage. The perfectly ripe Chardonnay grapes lend the wine its aromas of ripe, sweet fruit complemented by subtle oaky notes. The palate is rich and ripe with a luxurious texture that coats the palate, the signature of an outstanding Chardonnay. The Pinot noir and Meunier grapes from the Vallée de la Marne complete the wines broad, luscious, smooth and juicy character. The finish is energetic and fresh.

A meticulous selection of the finest Crus of Champagne, a selection of reserve wines spanning 20 years and longer than usual ageing time results in a serious yet approachable wine.
