A Merlot pressings wine that is the ultimate selection from the 2015 vintage. Pressings from each clonal batch were blended with a small amount of Cabernet Sauvignon from the best barrel in the room. This selection process was based purely on merit and determined that a very limited number of bottles were made (745). A special limited production wine that will reward those committed to carefully cellaring it.

Taste Description : Deep ruby red color with classic Coonawarra Cabernet Sauvignon characters of elegant blackcurrant, blackberry and cassis aroma. The palate is full of the dark fruit with a hint of tomato leaf flavor, subtle cedar spice and elegant French oak characters provide the fine tannin structure and the complexity, vibrant acidity with a long lingering finish.

Each vintage Wynns select a premium parcel from a single vineyard to bottle separately. This year the selection is from the Glengyle vineyard, creating a true wine of stature.

Matured in new French oak for 36 months. Totally opaque black core with a deep dark to brick red black tinged hue. Potent ripe blackcurrant scents mix with liquorice, earth, vanillin cedar, dried herb and subtle leather notes. Rich blackcurrant fruits flood the full bodied palate with some liquorice, earthy vanillin cedar, leather and spicy dried herbs lingering on the back half. Finishes dry and firm with a robust tannin structure and long slightly chewy aftertaste. Drink over the next 2-3 years. Alc. 13.8%

The Glenroy Cabernet Sauvignon displays rich notes of dark fruit, touches of oak, chocolate, and vanilla bean to complete a full bodied and intense varietal.

With powerful and vibrant dark berries, and underlying notes of savoury roasted nuts and black olive, this Cabernet Sauvignon has fine tannins and integrated subdued barrel characters to deliver an intricate wine with intensity.

Wynns is privileged to have some of Coonawarra’s best quality and oldest vineyards. Each year, the Winemakers select just one parcel of wine to bottle separately. In 2021, the Messenger vineyard, in the southern section of the terra rossa strip, showed to distinction. Planted in 1975, Messenger Cabernet is a dry grown vineyard on deeper soils.
