The inaugural release of this wine from Juniper, it's a great example of Cabernet's ability to be powerful yet finely-structured and elegant at the same time. Superb.Deep ruby purple. Expressive dark fruit, cassis, toast and exotic spices. Intense blackberry, blackcurrant and plum, fine-grained tannins, hints of baked earth, cassis, espresso and graphite, and lovely charry oak. Blackcurrants, cherries, dried cranberries and Satsuma plums feature on the nose at the forefront. Bay leaf, cinnamon, cardamon, cedar and clove combine with heightened lavender notes and hints of fresh tobacco. The palate is fine with a mineral thread. It is elegant and delicately layered. Blackcurrant and cherries feature again with a subtle cassis edge. The mid palate has supple flesh with cocoa, coffee bean and cassia leading to a graphite line and powdery tannins.

The Capel Vale Single Vineyard Scholar Cabernet Sauvignon 2017 boasts a deep, ruby red colour with a hint of purple. Aromas of blackberry, blueberry and cassis blend harmoniously with touches of spice and leather. On the palate, the wine is full-bodied and intense, with a good balance between its firm yet supple tannins and juicy acidity. Notes of blackcurrant, plum and star anise mingle with hints of tobacco and black pepper. This elegant Margaret River Cabernet is a highly enjoyable and complex drop that is sure to linger long on the palate.

Moss Wood are not know for their Pinot Noir, however this is a fine a unique expression of region and variety. A fruit bomb of rich and integrated flavours of cherry, spice, charry oak and silky finesse on the finish. The flavours pop and linger in the mouth long after the wine has left it.

Houghton Gladstones Cabernet Sauvignon is a wonderful example of well established wineries in the Western Australian wine scene with access to some amazing vineyards sites within the Margaret River. On show here are marvelous aromas and flavours of bay leaf, black tea and some spicy mocha notes. Excitingly dense on palate with harmonious oak balance and impressive acidity. A brilliant wine.
