Andrew Marks seeks to express the character of each of his unique vineyard sites. All of the wines are single vineyard expressions. This is a single vineyard Pinot from Yellingbo, at the Southern end of the Yarra Valley. Cane pruned MV6 clone on volcanic red soil with Nth Eastern aspect at 200m elevation. Large format oak. 30% new Damy Alliers French oak for 11 months on lees.

The nose displays aromas of raspberry and herbs with an attractive earthiness. The palate shows red berries, pomegranate and some lovely forest floor characters. A fine tannin profile and bright natural acid lift provide great depth and structure to the plate. The beautiful acidity suggests this.

Elegant, expressive, and quintessentially Yarra Valley. The Giant Steps Pinot Noir is a benchmark cool-climate red, crafted from a 50-50 blend of upper and lower Yarra Valley fruit. It delivers vibrant aromas of raspberry, black cherry, wild herbs, and crushed violets. Silky and sappy on the palate, this wine showcases depth, finesse, and a lingering finish.
