Hungerford Hill Classic Hunter Valley Verdelho
Hungerford Hill Verdelho has proven itself to be best suited to warmer viticultural climates, such as the Hunter Valley, where a complex unwooded style flavour ripeness is achieved and expressed early in the growing season allowing a fuller flavoured aromatic white wine. Brilliant youthful green in colour. A pungent aroma of spicy citrus, musk stick and hints of lavender whilst the palate is constant and complemented with hints of lemon and passionfruit with a subtle linear acid structure.
Charteris Bellevue Vineyard Semillon Hunter Valley
Subtle lemon sorbet with grapefruit pith and a touch of lavender and bath salts. It’s a slow burn to start with but aromatic intensity builds in this wine as it throws off the shackles of extreme youth and the effects of bottling. It’s all about purity here with the citrus and minerals compressed into a tight and also empirical form, crystalline almost with detail and depth in a very focused space. The entry leads with refined lemon drops but grows to full volume expression, lemon, grapefruit and the most composed yet persistent acidity with a long and silky finish, Resonant Tension. The clarity of vineyard and variety arriving with precise detail and harmony.
