Dog Point is responsible for some of Marlborough's best Pinot noir. This release has lifted aromas of dark cherries stone fruit and violets. The palate is rich and complex with a supple velvety texture.

Fromm, though, has remained staunchly boutique choosing to produce no more than 7,000 cases a year. With a quality without compromise attitude Fromm also makes fine examples of Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Gris, Riesling, Syrah and Rosa. All the wines are certified organic through BioGro.

Novum use small parcels of fruit from specially selected sites on established Marlborough vineyards to craft the best wines and expressions of terroir possible. Their first vintage arrived in 2016. Novums primary focus is on Syrah, Pinot Noir and Chardonnay.

This wine is coloured a ruby red hue. On the nose are classic aromas of dark berry fruits, black currants and spice coupled with perfumed notes of violets. The palate is loaded with flavours of dark plums, licorice and soft, fine-grained tannins. Earthy forest floor tones combine to create a complex wine. The palate is balanced, and the lingering finish ends with a lick of spice. Additional cellaring will develop more layers of savory and spicy notes. This wine goes well with crisp roast duck, smoky-glazed ham, vegan enchiladas, meat-stuffed cabbage cakes and grilled squid.
