Welcome to our latest release in theMéthode range. V2022Méthode Oakre Chardonnay. A trial to explore the influence of different types and ages of oak barrels on the resultant wine. The grapes were harvested and quickly pressed into 3 types of oak for fermentation; One new 300L French Hogshead 300L, one old 500L Puncheon and one 225L barrique previously used for Cabernet Sauvignon. The resultant wine is complex, combining biscuit and melon fruit with a hint of ‘Ochre’ colour and tannin complexity. A savoury style of Chardonnay combines biscuit and melon fruits, with a subtle oak influence. The palate is complex with the new oak adding toastiness, the old oak extending the mid-palate and the red wine barrel adding a hint of ‘ochre’ colour and tannin complexity. An overall balanced and elegant wine that is textural and intriguing.

Full-bodied white, pale straw in colour. Lifted aromas of rockmelon, white stone fruit, and vanilla bean. A complex layered palate, showing white peach and nectarine flavours, beautifully balanced with textured oak. The creamy mid-palate evolves into a long and mineral finish.

This wine shows aromas of citrus blossom, stone fruits and lemon curd that are complexed with more savoury notes of oatmeal and almond. The palate shows fresh peach and ripe citrus fruits, cashew and hints of spice. It has a creamy texture that is balanced with a line of fine acidity, some minerality and a lingering finish.

Coola Road 2015 Chardonnay has elements of subtle French oak and low yields. These elements used in conjunction with the region's cool climate has enabled this medium bodied Chardonnay to retain its attractive and delicate flinty notes and balanced acidity. With a light straw hue the nose opens with lifted melon, peach,grilled nuts and a clove/cinnamon like character on the nose.The palate is mid weighted but with good flavour intensity. Itshows succulent white peach and tinned pear juice with hints ofmint and mushy peas. With a lovely pithy texture on the palatedue to leaving the wine on lees in French oak. With the Frenchoak imparting subtle clove and biscuity notes, With crispbalanced acidity and good drive to the finish it is a lovelyapproachable wine that would go well with roast chicken andcreamy pasta dishes. Drink young while it is vibrant and fresh but will age in the medium term.
